because so many people feel as though that if their dick isn’t bigger than other people’s than its sad and embarrassing, and it won’t please someone, which makes them ashamed of it. also because your dick size is one thing you can’t really change, like if you want a six pack you can go to the gym but you can’t work out for you dick and make it bigger. and people feel like it’s a symbol of their masculinity and that their less of a man with a small penis. anyways i think that’s why people are so hung up about it. idk why people feel so ashamed of their penis to the degree that they lie about it, be positive and most of the time your penis is well within average size or even above it. be proud of what you got.

Because of the perception that men with bigger penises are more desirable as sexual partners. It also has something to do with porn (and sometimes mainstream media)

i can only talk for myself, but i honestly worry that i am not able to please someone :whoops: and it got better since i have a girlfriend who has seen it and seems to like it, but i do still feel inadequate, to be honest :(

For me it's -- am I the right size -- will it work when it is suppose to -- will the person I am with care it's average and not huge. Porn sucks as far as I care as it is so fake and only has guys that are huge -- so makes me feel way under average.

I never heard boys talk about having or wanting a big penis until I joined here. None of my friends ever bragged when we saw their penis was bigger than either all or some of us. And none of us lied about our size, we were proud to show each other as we started to develop and were happy for each other. And none of my friends, all either 13 or 14 years old has a erection over 5.25".

It's a guy thing…and think it’s more about are we the same as everyone else and mostly we are. But we are all different and that is cool too. Most girls I know don’t like tree trunks they like real guys who are sweet and caring not worried about what’s in their pants. I started late and catching, or I guess caught up but nothing I could do about it. But, I have the same worries too. My GF has seen me soft and hard and she says it’s nice and cute, but she cares about me and not that. Porn always has the biggest guys there and is not real anyway. FAKE! But everyone wants to fit in.

Each one of my friends tease the others about having the biggest dick which is kind of silly cause after at least 4 years of showering together, and changing and sleepovers, we all know what everybody's got. But that doesn't stop us from bragging. I guess it's about wanting to feel the most masculine or the strongest in the group.

When we hit puberty, the fact that it is growing is a sign of growing up. Also a bigger one is a sign to some of more sexual prowess, right or wrong

I used too be self conscious about it , but as i got older and saw more and others saw me i realised that actually most of us are pretty much the same .. average ..
so i gave up worrying , if it works its fine ☺️

Cause we’re going through puberty and dicks make us excited and since we’re dude we always like to compete in whatever we do, including dick size. We always feel like we’re not big enough and that we don’t match up with others.

Having a penis in the first place is sexually dimorphic; it is, for many years, the most visible sign that we are male rather than female. Then we we all know it grows at puberty so a fully developed penis is one of the signs of being a man, at least physically.

I think it is easy to assume from that that a bigger penis means being more of a man. This obviously isn't true any more than being taller makes you more of a man - something else you can't do anything about.

As other people have said, I think girls tend to look at the whole picture - if she likes you for other reasons then by the time she gets to see your dick she will probably like it because it is attached to you, not as something impressive in its own right.

In some ways I guess its a part of growing up. When you are a kid it seems really cool to be grown up and a dick growing is an obvious sign and then I guess peopel start nooticing other kids too.
Then there is th eworry about if you will please a partner.

Also not sure how representative of real life VT is.. I found VT as I was trying to find out about puberty/penis size stuff.. Maybe other peopel were doing the same and so thats what the threads are about.

Also for me I care because its just one more thing that I feel bad about myself. If I felt better about myself I probbaly wouldn't care so much anyway.

Many of we guys aren't obsessed with penis size.
I have what I have and it doesn't matter how it measures up to others'. It only matters what I can do with it.
