Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, sorry if it isn't.
So my friend doesn't have an eating disorder, but he has a bad habit of putting stuff like screws, aluminum foil, paper clips, pen springs, etc. in his mouth, and sometimes eating it.
Now i am wondering, what would be long term effects of one doing this, and what really happens when you eat metal stuff?

Is he a goat?
The long term affects wont b long
cause he could do mucho damage
to his lungs his stomach or his
intestines which could perforate
any one of these and as a result
can develop sepsis which is a
poisoning of his system and
death. And u say he does not
have an eating disorder?

Most obvious danger would be physical damage along the digestive tract. Additionally, while most common metals are chemically harmless to humans, certain metals like lead are toxic. Putting random things in your mouth isn't exactly the most sanitary thing anyways.

Actually pretty dangerous too, especially if ever swallowed. (Accidental perhaps?)
I highly advise against it.
Aluminum can also leech into the bloodstream overtime and can accumulate in the brain as well, significantly posing a higher risk of Alzheimer’s etc. avoid table salt too that has aluminum atoms attached to the salt molecules as well, many restaurants use this salt as it prevents the salt crystals from clumping.
But raw aluminum in the mouth can’t be much better.

The screws and paper clips sharp edges might damage his stomach and intestines.Other things might just pass out normally in a bowel movement. He needs to find another habit.

I really don't know why he does it, but I think it's gross because it's not clean.
And I really have no idea if he actually eats it, at least he says he does.
