Well, I have child voice though I went through plenty of puberty stages. And also one girl told me that I have kinda gay accent though I’m not gay or even bi. Could you tell me can my voice change or it will be like that forever because another girl who knows me since 4th grade (I’m now in 8th) told me my voice became deeper since she met me first time and that my voice was quite squeaky and now just child voice. And can I get rid of this accent because I don’t want people to think I’m gay.

And also I don’t want to see something like “humble yourself with your voice” because I want deep voice

U got to realize that u cant just change ur
voice. During puberty the voice does change
but its a fine line to what it is going to b like.
It could b deep or it could b high. If u notice
that ur voice is squeaky u probably r still not
finished with puberty. Don't listen to anyone
telling u that u sound gay or any other kind
of accent. This is something that u have to
live with no matter how u sound. Just b your
self.

Just want to add Andy that from a fellow Andy
and part Eastern European-a lot of us have deep
voices-so u just might have to wait for it-Bro.

your voice isn't really something you can change and is mostly genetic im sorry, maybe she meant the way that you were speaking as opposed to how deep it is

Well if your in 8th grade I would guess you are around 14. I would think that your voice would change and deepen soon. Saying that you have a gay voice is stereotyping and very wrong to say about anyone. I am very much gay but if you saw me and talked to me I would guess that you could not easily label me as gay.

Given your age your voice will still continue to change i suppose.

There are aspects of your voice you can change and ones you can't. The size and therefore mass of your vocal folds determines the range of pitch they can work over and the size of the resonating spaces in your mouth, throat and head determine the timbre of your voice. These are all things that change as you grow and your voice changes.

You can exercise some control over pitch. People singing can vary the pitch over a range of notes and still have the words understood so there is some control there. There is "vocal weight" - notice people around you and how they sound talking to each other. Sometimes someone's tone can seem authoritative and other times submissive. We may do that unconsciously but it is something our brains are controlling and not a fixed part of our voices. Then, while there are some fixed resonators such as sinuses we can alter the shape of our mouths and we do just that to make vowel sounds but depending on the exact shape and laryngeal position that can give a darker or lighter tone (within limits).

If you decide to experiment with these things, stay away from anything that seems like a strain or makes you hoarse.

The other thing to bear in mind is that just because your voice has started to change doesn't mean it has finished changing. It changes because your larynx and the resonating spaces grow and thus the period for peak change is also the period of peak general growth. If you have not finished your growth spurt yet then you may see some more obvious change.

I'm certain your voice will deepen within the next year or maybe two.

We all get signs of puberty in a different order, and it's not unusual for the voice to change as one of the last signs, though for me it was one of the first. So one thing is for sure; your voice won't stay squeaky as a man, Andrew, so all you need is a little patience.

.... nobody thinks you're gay because you have a squeaky voice.. let puberty do its work and be patient buddy

it will probably change although some of us (myself) have pretty high pitched voices anyway. Ive been mistaken for a 9 year old before thanks to my height and voice so... its not that bad

Glad I'm not the only one riding this struggle bus!! People think I'm gay because my voice is really kind of grating sometimes. I have no way of changing it and I have even tried to lower the pitch of my voice but I did have slightly low testosterone levels through childhood and even now, so that may have something to do with it? Not really sure. At this point, if my voice isn't gonna get any deeper I might as well just live with it and own up to the fact I'll never sound like a "manly man" lol.
