View Full Version : Things that annoy you in movies.

So, what annoys you in movies? For me (and I'm sure I'll come up with more later) it's when someone who's trying to escape a house just slam their hands on the door, and don't even touch the door knob.
Your turn. Amuse me.

In a horror movie when being chased by a monster in some random location:
Villige idiot- "We should split up."
Rare and surely soon to be dead smart person- "why?"
villige idiot- "because dumbass, reasons. DuH."
or something to that effect.

When they overly explain what is happening, when they always want to split up to investigate (bad idea), and when the main character always has a love interest.

Good one. I'm more annoyed though, when they're all about "we should stick together", but split up anyway.

That gets me too, i mean, if they get split up and its not in there control, fair enough, but when they just wander off like morons- ugh

Probably the same thing that annoys me with books and television shows, and that’s forced (shoehorned) relationships that take away from an ongoing or overall story. Couples who are together for the sake of having love (and an excuse for lazy writing). Not every story needs it.

When actors care more about the camera than the story they should tell. And they put their eye brows in different positions to look cool or interesting or think they look sexy. I lose interest in the movie, when that happens

When someone is running away from something/someone and trips.
In scary films when a character yells out hello as if the killer is going to be like I'm in the living room.
Police/Cops being stupid and clueless.
Ghosts that hate people who moved into their new house. They throw chairs and plates around the house, so why can't they just grab the people who moved into their house and throw them out.

yeah, gotta suspend your belief in almost all movies otherwise everything seems fake. I guess it partly comes down to if its a good movie, or a bad movie. its easier to over look some stupid stuff if the movie is good, but when its bad, well the stupid stuff just seems extra bad. And in a good movie, they can make the stupid stuff seem good, if that makes any sense. :)

Probably what I hate most is the fake scary ending, with the fake fake scary ending, then the fake fake fake scary ending....
but that should not be confused with a good movie that has twist at the end, which sometimes comes after fake ending, which is more like a fake ending that has a twist.
Best example is one of the best scary movies with the twist, Identity.
ZqEiMyT1VS8
If you have not seen identity, it the best of the best, its more of a thriller with unexpected ending that nobody sees coming.... Kinda one of movies that is best not to know too much before you watch it because the fun is watching it to be surprised, then watching it again because the ending changes everything you thought you saw the first time. It's my favorite kind of movie, and Identity is one of the very best.

A cliche that annoys me (I considered to make it a thread of it's own, but figured it'd be too similar to this one) is that in 90% of action/thriller movies it turns out that the good guy's partner or best friend turns out to be one of the bad guys.

The Prometheus School of Running Away From Things!
I hate impossible physics in action movies. Like when a car hits something head on, but then tumbles end over end like a Hot Wheels car off a bunk bed, instead of just smashing the front end and coming to a sudden stop like a real car would.
And CGI. Anything CGI. Especially that Transformers thing where the special effects team tries to see how many unidentifiable flippy-twisty objects they can cram onto the screen at once.

I also hate the "good guys" always winning too, or when the bad guys are chasing and shooting at the good guys and when the good guys stop the bad guy will stop shooting and say "freeze! Don't move". Lame. Have you seen the movie "Streets"? It's another no happy ending movie or the directors ending of The Butterfly Effect. It's sad and far better than the theatrical ending, which was only chosen to make people walk away feeling happy.

Yeah, just give it a chance if it shows up on Netflix one day you have nothing better to do. :)

Ah, yes, of course. There's that Mandalorian show as well. I wanna see that, but I'm not getting a channel just because of one show. :P

That an "ugly" main girl in the movie is just a beautiful actress with hair up, glasses and baggy jumper. By end of movie they discover their beauty by taking off glasses. Stupid.

This is not exactly in a movie. But there are some very popular movies in Denmark about a gang of thieves. Some company has made tribute posters with some of the actors and trademark lines. I like that, but I yelled out in anger, when I saw this.

They got the line wrong. A word is missing.
Pultost How do you feel about this huge mistake?

99% of movies are just boring to me so id say just random scenes that do not add anything to the plot and are just boring
