Dunno if this is where this is meant to go or whether there has already been a thread on this topic but the day approaches
Are you for or against independence?
I am against personally
Also quite interested what non Scottish people think, especially those from the rest of the UK :)

To be honest, I don't realllly see the point of it. I don't know much about it either, so I am neither for or against it.

Why?
I also don't hold an opinion on the matter. If the Scots want to cede: cool, if the Scots don't want to cede: cool, too.

I think that Salmond and Sturgeon are only in this whole thing just so that they would go down in history as the people who led Scotland to "FREEDOM!" but there are huge holes in the economics part of their promises. The whole thing just doesn't add up in my head
Also there are the huge deficit that we will need to take but our economy generates less than the rest of the UK does per person.

I'm not going to waste your time by pretending I actually know enough about the subject to form a decisive opinion, but I don't really see the point. Aren't Scotland and England both doing okay? Who would a seperation benefit? Wouldn't it just cost money and complicate things?

As an Englishmen who visits scotland I've been pretty much against independence- I saw it as a nationalistic grab by a power hungry group of politicians who wanted to give Westminster a bloody nose.
But now after seeing what's happening to Britain under the Tories I can honestly see why the Scots want to become independent. Scotland's one of the most socialist countries in Europe-they didn't vote for a tory government that would launch cuts that cripple our health services, our schools and our welfare state. It's about Scotland wanting to decide it's own future and it's own policies.
I'm still against it personally as I think that Scotland can work with the rest of the UK to actually build a better nation, and that we're stronger together. But when Tory Toffs from the home counties start telling the Scots how to live there life then I understand why the people of Scotland want the choice

I visited RAF Lossiemouth, and stayed in Elgin. It's like an hour from Inverness airport
