all of my friends watch porn but I personally never have. first it is illegal if you are not 18. second the excuse I always get is everyone watches it. Is porn something people just watch as they are growing and then stop when they reach like 18 or so?

Idk, it's a means to an end - the end being getting horny to masturbate. It works for some people, not so much for me. Some people watch it for the rest of their lives if it works for them and that's pretty normal.

yes, porn under 18 is illegal, but its not enforced, so cops won't bust down your door at 1am for watching it. and watching porn isn't something that only happens in adolescent years, people of all age do it, and start early too, (a survey of Australian boys aged 15-29 years old had an average saying that 90% of participants started watching porn at age 13 or younger). the reason not as many adults watch as much porn is because most of them have real life partners to have sex with or they are busy with things like work, so watching porn shouldn't bring you any serious consequences, and you might very well wish you watched it sooner.

It all depends on the person. Some people watch it from a very early age and never stop, and some people never watch it. And everything in between. And that's all fine. Maybe not entirely legal depending on the age and local laws, but no-one is going to arrest you.

And IF you're going to watch it, the this is very important as well:
Porn is fake. Very fake. It is nothing like real sex. Don't take porn as the standard as to what your sexlife should look like.

The rights or wrongs of porn or watching it can be debated endlessly with no real conclusion other than l think we all agree that professionally made material bears no resemblance to what actually happens when you're having sex yourself.

I think people watch porn at different ages for different reasons.
When you're younger, you watch it to see what the other sex looks like.
Then you watch it as fodder for masturbating.
Then you watch it to see how it's done and pick up some techniques, as you become sexually active with another person.
Often couples watch it together, either to get turned on, or to get ideas.

There's nothing wrong with porn as long as you don't become obsessed with it and realize much of it is fake. If a guy's going at it for half an hour straight, it's likely they've stopped a few times so he could recoup. Don't expect to be able to perform like that and don't expect the girl's hair to remain nicely coiffed when you're going at it.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of porn vids, but everyone is different.

Some people prefer to look at pics rather than action.

On the other hand, the illegal aspect probably isn't important, as long as you're sure not to get on some weird site which has kiddy porn.

I'm not even sure if it's illegal for minors to watch porn. I know it's illegal to sell it to them, but I've never heard of a minor being arrested for watching porn.

with the internet and smartphones porn is so readily available that I think plenty of kids are exposed to it in some way or another before or right at the onset of puberty, maybe before they even know what it is. As far as younger people watching a lot more than the adults it's intended for, think of it like masturbation: they discover it in early adolescence, start checking things out, and then WHOA. This stuff is awesome! And then they want to do it as much as they possibly can, all day every day. That's actually not entirely true. There's no law specifically prohibiting minors from watching porn. There are however laws that make it illegal for an adult to distribute or make porn available to minors, and that's why they make you 'verify' that you're 18 or older, it's so that they don't get in legal trouble for providing it to you.

I don’t think its illegal as long as the people in the porn are of legal age. But sites still have to cover their butts so that’s why they ask the “are you 18+”. And no you don’t just stop at 18. So many people watch it.
