Hey guys, so it’s summer in Australia here so it’s very hot and I’m wondering if shaving/trimming my pits will stop them from holding as much sweat or being as sweaty?
Do you shave/trim your pits or leave them natural?
Does it stop sweating or make them smell nicer?

No and I can’t see this helping in the sweating/smelling area.

I think shaving or trimming will reduce
body odor cause bacteria from perspiration
is trapped in pit hair.

Aussie too and yep it’s been extra f***ing hot this summer
Totally correct, trimming or shaving will reduce sweat hanging around
I find being shaved you sweat there more and risk ingrown hairs, irritation etc and also can get funny looks from people but trimming is quick and easy and better than long hair because yeah, less hairy surface area for sweat to hang onto and let bacteria breed in and stink up the joint
Same goes for most body hair, either a electric grooming clipper thingies or a beard trimmer does the job easy

Thanks man, I think I’ll just use an electric trimmer like I do with my pubes

I don't think that shaving will make any difference on you sweating or help with odor. Think back when you first got body odor. I am sure most people get BO before your pit hair grows.

I've started shaving my pits as soon as I got hair there so I'm not sure what it feels like, but not having hair there is great, especially in the summer! You'll still have to use deodorant but you'll feel more comfortable at least!

I tried shaving pit hair once to see if it will help reduce pit odor. But no, it doesn't really help. But you should still be using deodorant.

Yeah I use deodorant and everything but it’s like the smell of the deodorant stays in there even after washing and it frustrates me sometimes

I can't believe you measured lol, but honestly I wouldn't shave your armpit hair completely. It might make them irritated. Trimming is fine though

yeah I was afraid shaving would open up a whole world of irritation but yeah lol I was curious so I measured.

shaving your pits really doesnt do you any good cause youll still sweat, you should invest in a decent anti-perspirant and that should help.

Yup. I'm not particularly hairy to start with but I've never touched it

I don't think it will do anything. Especially with the weather in the last few days omg, I remember getting BO before I had pit-hair.
Use lots of anti-perspiration and deodorant, but with the heat (+ the humidity) it's pretty hard not to sweat a hell of a lot.

I mean the hair doesn't grow forever, it slows when it reaches a certain length so I'm sure it's fine.

You need to use a very soft trimmer to protect yourself from wounds and irritations. I think you should read a few tips, which is a softer trimmer. Link to the tips is here: https://www.mistershaver.com/7-best-beard-trimmers-reviews/
