Okay, I am obsessed with clothes shopping at Goodwill. The one I've been going to recently is located in a really ritzy town, and it blows my mind what rich people just toss away. I've basically filled my closet with like-new, name-brand shirts (some that even still had tags on them) for under $4 a shirt. Maybe it's just because I'm a cheap bastard, but I love it. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Wouldn't they have gone out of business if you were the only one? :P
You sound practical to me and it sounds like fun.

Every single thrift store I've ever gone to has sucked, so I stick to buying new clothes.

Haha, that's exactly what my family calls me, "the cheap bastard".
I go to all sorts of thrift stores, but GW is my favorite by far; it's the cleanest, has the best items, and the best prices.
My whole closet is all designer/brand name clothes/shoes/purses/belts, I've gotten a lot of camera gear there too, as well as some cool vintage knick knacks.
So yeah, I'm a huge thrift store junkie as well. :P
I hardly ever shop retail anymore; only for the obvious stuff like food and other things you wouldn't buy used.

I know, I couldn't imagine paying $20 or more for a shirt when there's stuff just as good - if not better - at Goodwill for $3.99! I find it impossible to walk out of that place (or any "junk store", for that matter) without something, I just can't turn down a good deal.

My town sucks.. There's never any thing good at the thrift stores around here so I usually buy new clothes.. Although people do tend to give up books at them that look almost brand new and are good ones, so I tend to grab a couple of those when I go

Thrifting is great because you can possibly find things from all over the country/world. And like you said, if you go to one in a nice town or area, you can find a lot of really nice clothing. I've gotten a few really nice designer pieces thrifting.

I never go to any thrift stores. I like buying new things.
Same here, I would find it weird to wear something that someone else has worn already.

Ah... Goodwill. Back when my parents bought pokemon from there for me when I was little.
If there were Goodwill-alikes here I would surely go to them sometimes. But I'll keep in mind to save the good will (hah! pun!) for people with less money. Once-in-a-trimester would be cool.

I guess it must be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodwill_Industries
A win win for everybody and a great idea. helps all round we have charity shops in the UK which is the same thing really - some stuff for sale has not even been used or worn at all.

I go to Goodwill to find cool knick knacks and such, but for clothes I stick to buying new things.

I did when I was younger, but the only one near me doesn't have anything for my age group. It's all kids or adults, no inbetween. But I buy pretty much everything on clearance anyway, so there's not much point for me.
