What’s the difference between hot and cute when used to describe someone you find attractive?

To me hot means someone you find incredibly physically attractive in a more sexual way. Cute can mean either attractive in a more innocent way, or describe someone with a nice personality

"Hot" to me describes someone who looks and acts sexy. "Cute" describes someone who is pretty in a more innocent and lovable sorta way. Works both ways, with both guys and girls.

I tend to use hot with mega conventionally attractive people that I doubt I'll interact with whilst cute tends to be a more loveable, attractive person I interact with.

Huh yea it is interesting question. I feel like with us it is.... cute is something to describe girls, but hot is something for women...if that makes sense? It kinda holds up for me at least. I am not curvy and i rarely get called hot. Just cute!! :what:

But for the boys..... i frequently use cute when describing guys that i like and don't consider it the same way at all.

I think hot and cute can happen at the same time:) But like some of the other girls said hot..is more sexual, and cute is more heart and feelings:) Both are a very good thing:)

Basically this. Sometimes I feel saying someone is hot is really like saying "WOW!!!" Cute can have that innocence and "aww he's cute" :-)

"Hot" conveys an image of shallowness; "cute" is more down to earth.

I was always more of a MaryAnn fan than a Ginger fan :P.

Cute is good, if you like the sort of attention that goes with "hot" there's nothing wrong with that approach either. But I don't think all of us are capable of being "hot" to everyone around us, only certain people will see someone as being "hot" to them because of specific things they see in that person, usually appearance, the way they dress is a big part of it, so is behavior.

I learned that I can dress in a manner that gets lots of attention........all it takes is wearing clothes that show off my best features like my hips and thighs.........a short skirt or a skimpy bikini bottom at the pool will get lots of second looks, smiles and comments. Some of them say things like "you're hot" but just as likely to be the unwanted sort of comment about things they would like to do to me.

Omg, I actually not really sure. I guess, hot for me is physical attractiveness where cute I would use for like personality attractiveness and i could use both to describe facial attractiveness if that makes sense. Good question

Hot is overrated. You can be hot but a total jerk. To me hot is someone you look at and lust over, but that doesn’t mean they’re cute. Not to be disgusting but hot people make you horny. Cute on the other hand has nothing to do with body, it can be face or just one part like eyes or even not a part like personality or clothes or whatever. To be honest I get kind of flustered around cute people because idk they’re more accessible and someone I can see myself with.
