Why do guys lose their train of thought when looking at a girl?

My friend and I were talking to each other face to face. He had looked away for a second to put something down while he was still talking to me. But then, once he focused his attention back to me, he said "I forgot what I was going to say." Then, he continued to talk after looking down at the ground for a second to remember.

True, true. I was gonna say to that the same thing happens to me sometimes, whether talking to guys or girls. :)

There could be a lot of reasons. He might have lost his trend of thoughts. He might have been distracted by some background noise. Or, his brain went into overdrive thinking of what to say next.

Your title doesn't really match the situation. It sounds like the guy just got distracted with something else, and in that short span lost his train of thought. Happens to everyone, I don't see it as a guy-girl thing.

In a situation in which a guy is interested in the girl he is talking too, he might lose his train of thought due to over-thinking what to say next to impress her, but again I think your situation was just him being distracted.

Hormones. And he might not even be thinking that way about you, like sometimes my brain just gets like buzzy and I can’t concentrate or remember things. They said in health that testosterone can do that, it effs up the guys brain to think about basic needs and sex. Just forgive him because I know I do it and it’s got to be annoying to the girl.

Unless he’s really into you, then it’s because he’s just horny, so forgive him for that too, we totally can’t stop that.

Seriously, we're all different; forgetfulness or lack of concentration is definitely not restricted to boys. But puberty can crowd our heads so much that, whether we're male or female, we find it hard to focus our minds on just one thing.
