I like a few Studio Ghibli movies, Hayao Miyazaki generally makes their best stuff. My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, The Wind Rises, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya(not Hayao Miyazaki's). Those are the ones I've seen. My favorite is probably Howl's Moving Castle

I would recommend La Tortue Rouge (The Red Turtle), as one of the newer Ghibli Projects.

It's not a original Ghibli project, but animated by Ghibli.

However, it is a movie in which there are no dialogues, but noises and sounds as one can expect stranded on an island. In my opinion very well implemented in visualization and sound.

Love Studio Ghibli. Generally Miyazaki is their best director, but pretty much all of their films are good or at least worth checking out, even if you don't end up enjoying it.

If you want to look outside Studio Ghibli I recommend anything by Satoshi Kon. Perfect Blue, Paprika, Millenium Actress are great. They all have that really surreal type of stuff that Spirited away has. He also massively influenced the movies Inception and Black Swan as well, so check those out if you're into surreal live action stuff

Is Castles in the Sky in the same category?
