Hey bros,

I just joined Planet Fitness for the new year because I'm trying to get in better shape. I noticed I got a boner while I was on the elliptical and it was quite annoying. Is this common? How can I prevent or hide this??

weirdly enough i just had a similar experience doing a plank so i looked into it. Apparently it is a very common thing to get horny while you work out and the burning feeling can make your orgasm more intense. It is called a coregasm, you should look into it!

Well, working out gets the blood pumping around the body and since boners are caused by increased blood in the penis, I guess it wouldn't be abnormal to get a little harder when exercising. The sensation of fabric rubbing against it during the workout must help too.

Id say its common, preventing might not be possible, maybe someone will tell you to jerk off before working out but then youll need to drink water so meh, getring rid of is easier, just focus on your work out and itll go away soon enough

It's very common when working out. Some reasons for it include exercise positions that closely resemble 'those' positions, blood pumping through the body and oddly enough sometimes you just get turned on by yourself xD.

I sometimes get them while working out and I try to put it under my shorts waistband if it's sticking out. I don't think there is a way to stop them since your blood gets pumping while working out and that can cause boners so I would just try to hide it or let it be

yea, it happens. Suggest wearing a jockstrap which is best support and still gives you the mobility . Compression shorts also help but don't support as well.

You could wear any type of underwear or a jock if you have one. A jock would probably hide a boner better but underwear is fine if you don't have one

Happens to me all the time especially because there are so many attractive girls that go to my gym. My word of advice is send the blood somewhere else. So if you feel one coming on just start working out and pumping weight like crazy. Also on a side note I would advise against planet fitness, they are kinda crazy and stupid with a lot of their rules.

I get them occasionally when I'm working out. I get them more on the Elliptical and stationary bike than any other machine. You might try wearing a jock. It may cover your boner better than wearing briefs or boxers to work out.

I would agree - tight underwear are the way to go, if you're trying to keep it "on the down low" haha.

We have to wear jockstraps for PE, and it's saved me from some embarrassment on several occasions... Kind of hurt like hell getting hard in a really tight pouch like that, but at least it went away pretty quick!

For me the exercise that does this to me is anything to do with pulling up my legs, like hanging leg raise or reverse sit ups on a incline. After like 10-12 I get a tingly feeling in my balls and I get hard. It feels the same when I climb a rope or pole. Does this happen to anybody Else?

It's very common, even for older guys. Look around any gym, you will see guys doing intense workouts have boners.

My dad told me when he was at school in PE, all the guys had to do rope climbs. The rubbing of the rope & the intensity of clutching leg & arm muscles gave my dad his first ejaculation at 12. My dad believes the school encouraged this practice to get boys past this development milestone because he and other boys got a private lecture from the coach afterwards about how to navigate these feelings & a pat on the back for becoming a man. lol

I went to a gym in Morocco with my dad, it had a Turkish bath connected to it. In Morocco, this was a strictly male-only space. The guys worked out in their undies. It was funny because they all wore the latest sports gear to go there but once there stripped down to their underwear to work out. No chance of hiding a boner. They have a completely different attitude to us in the west.
