Hi guys :) Im going on holiday in a few weeks and Ill be taking my DSLR with me. As of yet I dont have any post-processing software on my laptop but because Im going to be taking lots of photos I really need to get something before I go. I don't really have enough money at the moment to head down the Adobe Photoshop route so I was wondering if anyone knew of any imaging software that doesn't cost the earth but will still get the job done well?

The software needs to be able to handle RAW format as well.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Adobe Lightroom is pretty damn powerful in terms of processing and basic re-touching. Shoot your images in RAW and take the rest from there.

Lightroom is probably all you'll ever need - it really streamlines your workflow when you start pounding your computer with work too so you can enjoy your trip :)

Eh.
Get a trial of Lightroom and see how you like it. It's easy to move up to the Creative Suite too, you should always think of the future

Paint.NET It's free and powerful. It's like Photoshop-Lite. Other than that I think Corel is good but difficult and expensive.
