View Full Version : Very tight foreskin

I'm 14 and new to this site. I have a very tight foreskin. When hard it forms like a small nipple at the tip of my head with a small opening. I can't retract it at all even when soft but it doesn't cause any pain or discomfort. I definitely don't want to get circumcised so I haven't told my parents about it.
Girls: how would you feel if your bf was like this?
Guys: anyone else have a foreskin like this? what did you do about it?

Dont worry about it if it doesn't hurt. You just haven't grown into it yet. It will eventually loosen as you get older. But if it starts causing pain then say something.

you should be able to retract. it's a medical condition that definitely needs to get checked. my little brother needed to be operated for it

I've not had it myself. I have read a few threads though. Having to get cut would be the last resort. The first question would be does it feel as if the foreskin has detached yet when soft? If so then it's just a case of practice and stretching, Stop when it's too painful. Being wet in the shower helps. You can see the doctor and get prescribed steroid cream. Hopefully getting cut will not be needed. Do get it checked out

I would totally agree here with Maxbreak and say to try the stretching and talk to your doctor about it and tell them that you don't want circumcision.

I cant imagine how it is possible to have sex without being able to retract your foreskin...
You should definitely talk about it at least to your doctor. I understand it's not easy to talk about this irl, especially to your parents but there is nothing to be ashamed of or embarassed. Your parents are here to protect you and support you when you need it, not to judge you if you have a medical problem ;-)

my dad started having me and my brother stretch ours in the bathtub when we were younger. maybe try that, or in the shower, but gently.

I suggest the same as above. At first I had more or less the same fear, I tried progressively to retract it as much as possible under the shower without doing it too much or hurting myself. Then one day I was finally able to retract completely. See you doctor if you still can't. Circumcision will be unlikely.

You should be able to completely retract it over the head when hard. You need to talk to your doctor. He can give you steroid creams and some stretches to do that will help loosen it up. I went through this after I started puberty and my dick got thick.

Thanks for your replies. I really can't talk with my parents about it because they will want me to have a circumcision which I definitely don't want. The opening is so small that I don't know how I can stretch it though?

Is there any specific reason why they would, other than the fact that U are tight? U may have to tell them, if U want to get a doctor's appointment? Make it clear from the start U don't want to get cut. If the Doc is on Ur side, it should be the last option.

Why would they absolutely want you to be circumsized?

My older brother had a tight foreskin and they had him get circumcised. They didn't even consider other options.

Tell them that you do want other options. Have u asked bro on his experience?

You will have to see a doctor first. Ask him if there are other solutions

So given you don't trust your parents to take account of your wish not to be circumcised, one strategy is to see if you can delay doing anything at least until you are legally an adult and can therefore have the final say on your own healthcare.
That also may be perfectly possible. The condition you describe is called phimosis and the UK NHS says it does not need to be treated unless it is causing repeated incidents of balanitis (inflammation of the glans). See their article on phimosis (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/).
So, for the time being, as long as you've found a way to masturbate without it being painful, possibly by sliding the skin forward from it's resting position, i.e. away from your body, rather than pulling it back, then all is fine. At some time in the future you will presumably want to have sex and then a condom can help because the sliding is then between the condom and her vagina, not between your foreskin and the head. If you try without you may find that pushing in tends to pull your foreskin back to the point it is painful. If extra lube doesn't help then you may have reached a point where you want to have it treated but, hopefully, you can make it to 18 or whatever the relevant age is where you are before getting to that point.
If and when you do decide to get treated, steroid creams should be the first option. Only if that doesn't work should a doctor recommend circumcision and then it would be up to you whether you have it done or live with it. Clearly lots of people on here and elsewhere are quite happy being circumcised so it is not the end of the world but it is, perhaps, because so many Americans are circumcised that some American doctors may rush into circumcision as if it was "no big deal" when they should have more patience with other options. There is also an option called a dorsal slit. The other thing about waiting is you can read up for yourself so that if and when you do talk to your doctor, you can have an informed conversation.

Thank you for your reply. I think waiting is the best option since it isn't causing any pain or discomfort. My only concern is: what would a girl (in U.S.) think of it. I have had some opportunities to do things with girls but I haven't let things go that far because I don't know how they might react to it?

How are you able to masturbate?
I think you said previously that you have had sex. How are you able to have sex if you can't retract the skin?

yes, when I was younger my skin was this way. it is still a little tight but slides back easy when hard or soft and I have no issues cleaning it.

I wouldn't mind if my bf had a tight foreskin but i would probably be afraid i might hurt him while i played with his penis

Take a hot bath and with your thumb and pointing finger just rub the nipple end back and forth and try and pull it over your pinkie finger. Just strecth it until it starts to hurt then stop. Do this for awhile, and it should help.

I masturbate by sliding my foreskin back and forth over the head. I can do this even though the foreskin doesn't retract.
I've not had sex before but I don't know how it might work with a foreskin that doesn't retract.

Thank you for your reply. I don't think you could hurt it unless you tried pulling my foreskin back really hard.

if its causing concern but you don't want to alert your parents, slowly try and pull it back more and more every night, not so it hurts, just as far back as you can, slowly work back until you can pull it back past the head easily and painlessly

There's nothing to be scared about being circumcised, it's not serious operation and can be done even with local numbing shot. Keeping phimosis is dangerous as it may lead to increased penis cancer risk and to many other diseases like inflamations.
So do not hesitate to inform your parents about it!

If you feel uncomfortable with it, and if it starts to smell (not unlikely since things tend to build up back there) see a doc.
