Some children get religiously indoctrinated, mostly by Christianity and Islam. What is concerning me is that they don't do it because they want to, but because they arebforced by family, friends, school etc. Why people do this? I don't know. I was not religiously indoctrinated. I choose Christianity first, until the dogma began which made no sense to me. Literally the more I studied it, it made less sense to me. I realised it is so self-contradictory, so I stopped believing. I was an atheist, but I started practicing Slavic paganism because I am fascinated by the traditions of my Slavic ancestors. I don't really believe it, it's kind of like a tradition. I found my own way. Many children have their parents or schools choosing what they believe, and brainwash them that it's sad. What's your opinion on this?

It's wrong, of course. But there's not really very much that can be done about it other than continuing to educate the public as to why religion is stupid, and hoping that it dies out sometime in the next hundred years.

Well as you saw by my religious indoctrination thread, I completely aggree with you.
Sadly there's nothing we can do about parents putting ont heir ideas to children.
It is my personal opinion that schools with teaches of the mind such as religion should not be allowed.

Religion is not a choice, for most personal it's both forced upon them socially and imprented on their mind from such an early age that it warps their mind;
there are even people that in the middle of their life realized that it's not their own thoughts but the thoughts of others that were put in them, and become non-religous.

But then again, social and cultural norms are taught by parents as well; so not allowing them to teach religion would cause alot of trouble.
It's just sad that there are schools for toddlers that teach them about something they don't even understand but will have to carry all of their lives.

Exactly. There is already a thread for this right here. (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=204673)

No need to start a new one. :locked:
