I'm Bi but it seems to me the majority of actions like that being taken would be when younger guys who are experimenting with their sexualities and maturing as humans generally. Beyond a certain personal maturity point, it would become more consciously homosexual or associated with attractions of the like and less due to hormones. I could see it being plausible though between two people who were very familiar with each other or at least trusted each other for one or other reasons.
