I am talking to a girl called Yna. We have been speaking for about a month and I have met her parents. They like me, and I like them.
Anyway, Me and Yna are starting to fall in love with eachother. She tells me a lot that she has feelings for me and i do too. Yesterday her friend from Primary School called Alex (guy) asked her on a date. Yna doesnt think it is a date, however when he asked her he also asked if me and Yna were still talking. She said No to going on a date and yes to me and her still talking.
Yna told me that she had told Alex about me and how she likes me etc. So why would Alex want to get between us cos its only going to piss us off. I know Yna wont go to the date with him, I trust her. I just dont like the fact that Alex gets to see her almost every day on the bus to college and he sits next to her trying to eavesdrop at mine and Ynas texts. Yna has nothing to hide, she let me go on her snapchat and there was nothing fishy between her and Alex which was surprising because he really seems like the "fuckboy" type.
Im in a dilemma because I worry a lot. I dont know what this Alex kid is like. Yna thinks it was a "friend date" but if so, why would he ask if me and Yna were still talking AND try to read her messages to me on the bus. I told Yna that if he asks again to go on a date with you I am going to message him and be like "yo dude you do realise Yna is talking to someone right" I wouldnt be rude to him. I am meeting Yna for the first time without her parents on Friday and taking her to dinner. Then at the end of November I am going to London with her and her parents and staying with them over night.
I would like some opinions on this Alex kid, because its starting to annoy me that he knows Yna is talking to someone, He reads her messages, asks if we are still talking and Yna says yes, then he asks her on a date.
All seems a bit fishy with him ngl.

You need to trust her until she gives you a reason to doubt her...this guy sounds like a dick and no doubt shes gonna see through him pretty quickly. Youre gonna feel pretty smug when she comes back to be with you after hes tried his best on this "date"

Your problem is the ambiguity of the phrase "talking to someone". There's no commitment or exclusivity with that phrase. Anyone can talk to anyone.
You need to figure out if you two are dating, and if so, establish if it's exclusive. Then there's a firm signal to the world that your relationship is off limits.
It sounds like you're already dating so I'm not sure why she isn't your girlfriend yet.
Step up!

the reason we arent officially dating yet is because her mum caught her sexting me and was very paranoid. Her mum needs to trust us both then we can start dating. We are just taking it slow.By talking to me, it means she doesnt want to talk to another boy the way she talks to me, she is talking to me to essentially date me in the next few weeks or so.

Girls do this too. There's always going to be someone else who wants what they can't have. Yna needs to just tell this guy she is not interested in him.

It sounds like you don't really have much to worry about. It Seems like shes on your side, and although Alex sounds annoying I don't think he stands much of a chance against you.

Every girl always has other guys trying to get with them. Either you are confident and share trust and there's nothing to worry about, or you're just jealous and not confident. Nobody likes the latter. If you 2 aren't clearly in an exclusive relationship, then you both can choose to do want you want and that other guy will keep pursuing her.

I think if the two of you really like each other then you have to be able to trust her. Alex may be a dick, but it's hard to know what his motive is: is he just trying to mess things up, is he actually interested in her or is he a dick but not interested at all. But, if you can't trust her then what does that say about how you two feel about each other. Even if you need time to regain her parents trust and start 'really dating' you could still talk about being exclusive. Have you shared how you feel with her?
