2 pairs of underwear

So I recently noticed that theres a guy in my PE class who always wears two pairs of underwear, often matching. Anyone know why?

Maybe it's a cheap version of compression shorts for him? Or maybe he piddles a little when he runs or whatever and needs a second pair to keep it from showing. I'm out of guesses.

I haven't seen that for underwear, but i have already seen a couple of times a guy with 2 swim briefs or briefs underneath jammers

I do not particularly look at other guy's underwear but I have never seen that and I don't really have an idea about why. Maybe hiding boners as said others. And a matching pair of underwear so that it is less noticeable.

The only time i've ever done that was if i knew i was gonna be outside for awhile in the winter so i'd wear briefs under boxer briefs, but I'd think I'd get super warm especially in PE with two on.

The two reasons which make the most sense that have been presented are modesty reasons or maybe he has a weaker bladder and trying to cover up any possible leakage. For warmth reasons would make sense if they were going to be outside. back in middle school, I know there were some guys who wore boxers over their briefs because they were embarrassed. of course when people realized it, they were made fun of anyways. I don't care, but it only makes sense to wear one pair of underwear. for sports in particular some that are going to give you enough support (but hey, if you want to wear normal boxers, that's totally up to you as well)

I have already worn shorts under trousers once when it was extremely cold. Since shorts are longer than boxers it makes sense as it keeps the warmth better. And the weather was like extremely cold. The kind of cold where you can get frostbites just by waiting for your bus.

Wearing two pairs of underwear won't make you much warmer. Furthermore these guys do it regularly, so it can't be for warmth.

I briefly did this when I was switching to boxers from briefs. I did it because boxers were "cool" but the rubbing on the head was annoying.
