pee shy

Hey guys! I’m 18 and I just started college. Is it weird that I get like pee shy in public like when I’m at school? I almost never use urinals because I’m nervous that someone will come in to the bathroom and look at me and it’s just hard for pee to come out. Is this normal or weird? I would appreciate any help or feedback to help overcome pee shyness.

I'm the same. It takes me about 5-6 seconds before i can start peeing. I rarely pee at school though so i don't experience this much. If you really struggle just use a cubicle.

I'm the same, if I'm at like a trough urinal and someone else is there i can't pee, I'm fine if there is dividers.
SO hard when i go out to clubs and am desperate to take a piss and can't, and the stalls are occupied or disgusting...

A urinal is ok for me to use because I can get closer to it if someone is next to me, but I hate having to use the open trough (spelling???). It is just weird standing next to strange men. I always feel like they are watching me and if I am slow to start peeing I wonder what they are thinking. It gets me more nervous.

I also rarely pee at school but if I have to I'm fine with using urinals, although I might not use them in other public places.
You could try to get at least your body used to it, do you pee standing when at home?
If not maybe doing that would help.

Lots of guys are very modest and find it hard to even pee when someone else is standing near. It is something that you should try and overcome. If you ever attend a large event like a concert or pro football game they usually have the large trough type urinals and it is wide open. It's never been a big deal for me if others see my penis but some guys are very shy about it. You got to learn to live with some things in life.

I think this is a pretty common problem. Try closing your eyes and try to imagine that you're on your own. Focus on relaxing your muscles so that you let go. Sometimes it takes me a little bit to get going, but once I'm peeing it's all good.

Its not weird. Its a thing u have to overcome
over time tho. When u have to go U have to go
and if u have to use the urinal then keep staring
at the wall unless u get a guy that wants to bond
with u. If u want ur privacy then use the stall.

Totally know what you talking about. You just need to get used to it. Just need to start pee in the urinal. Then you will slowly adjust to it. That how I did it

It's normal. I never use urinals; can't go if I do. There's just a feeling of being "exposed". I rarely use the bathroom at school anyway though so it doesn't come up too much.

Personally, I hate using stalls because of how cramped and dirty they always are so I always use urinals and have never had a problem with using it. I'm fine with it as long as people arent harassing me or anything. I do often get people peeking though but I just ignore them.

I remember when I was I think 11 or maybe 10, five of us boys were peeing together outside aiming our piss streams all together. One boy had no pee coming out (probably pee shy) and another boy laughed and told him to "give it a few shakes and that'll get it going!" The boy was SO embarrassed he put his back in his pants and ran off, and I think he almost started to cry in embarrassment. I felt really bad for him.

But they aren't all doing the same thing. This is a question about those boys or those times when you're peeing with others in a public place, and embarrassingly you can't get the darn thing to actually open up and piss. It can be embarrassing being the only one holding a dry hose that's not doing anything.
