View Full Version : School Bus Problems

I've just about had it with my school bus. There's a kid who keeps looking at me. He sits in the seat in front of me and he keeps looking back and laughing. Another person threw a cup and wrappers at my head. The bus driver doesn't really do anything about it, but I didn't tell him. I don't really think he would do anything. A different person on my bus also keeps looking at me and laughing. Today, one person tried to trip me before I got off but I stomped on his foot. I don't really like this bus, and I try to look out the window so I don't have to deal with this. Another kid says my name repeatedly in a very sarcastic voice. It's very annoying. People tell me that I need to get over myself and deal with it, but it's not working. A majority of the kids on this bus aggravate me to no end. Someone threw a piece of paper at my head with a number written on it today. It was the bus number that I'm going to ride tomorrow. Is he trying to hint that he wants me to leave? I'm giving him what he wants.
I'm going to a different bus stop tomorrow. It's a five minute walk, which isn't too bad. The kids are much nicer and I should know because I've rode the bus before. To be perfectly honest, I think this is supposed to be my bus stop anyway.
Has anyone else had any problems on their school bus? I can't be the only one. I don't want to tell any teachers about this only because I feel like the won't do anything.

Even though you don't really want to, you should go to a teacher or counselor about it. Worst thing that happens, problem doesn't get fixed. Probably a good idea to go to a different bus, though.

I actually talked to one teacher about it, but I don't think she did anything. I'm just going to pretend nothing happened and ride the other bus tomorrow.

We don't do school busses in the uk but some people share taxis if they live far enough away and I know two sisters who found that really annoying but the driver actually helped them out

The school bus I used to take was nice...but I know that some of my friends were having a hard time for some unknown reasons.
I opine that you've made the best choice by taking an alternative bus stop with better people.
Keep believing in yourself and don't let those kids put you down!
Good luck, friend! :D

:( That sucks
I personally haven't had any problems on a bus but I know people that have and I understand that it rlly rlly sucks. I think you should stick to going to the friendlier bus stop, even if it is 5 minutes farther as it will make a huge difference for you. Good luck with it all :)

I'm sure I would get harassed more on the mainstream school bus if my friend and his friend did not ride it with me. I keep my my eyes closed and ear buds in the whole way otherwise it's too much sensory overload with all the noise and moving around. And we quiet ones on the spectrum trying to keep to ourselves, are supposed to be the ones with behavior issues lol.

Sigh, I did have the same problem.
What I did was tell my bus driver what happened and if I could sit in front so she could see what was going on. I may have done it with the principal next to me, and she pretty much gave me dirty looks for a couple weeks. Best thing to as well is ask all your teachers to have a close eye on you in class, and when you're not in class make sure you walk with a friend or acquaintance.
If things still go wrong, talk to a parent or trusted adult, and hopefully they'll take it from there. :)

I once dealt with a really mean girl that used to go on my bus. She was a trouble maker, failed her classes, and was generally unliked by everyone. One day, she was bullying a boy on my bus and so a girl in my music class and I kinda just put her in her place and needless to say, she never bothered anyone again until today in which she was expelled.

Thanks, everyone! I ride the other bus now. It's five minutes away from my house. :D

Had a similar issue as well, there are two busses that go into my neighborhood. One in the back and one in the front. I happen to live in the middle so distance wise it's the same. However in the morning and afternoon the back bus leaves later in the morning, and gets to the stop earlier in the afternoon. I used to take the back bus but then there were some annoying 6th and 7th graders harassing me. One day after I got off the bus one of them grabbed my hoodie and pulled the hood over me and started laughing. Once I had taken it off I round house kicked him in his stomach and left. After that he still was harassing me so I just ended up taking the front bus. Problem solved. Also I'm glad to hear that your issue improved, it's no fun.

That sounds like my bus stop. The one I'm going to now, the bus comes at 6:50 AM. The bus I used to ride came at 7:02 AM. I'm glad I changed buses, though.

*sigh* some people are just assholes. A friend of mine used to get bullied on the bus, and still does sometimes, but I don't take the bus so annoyingly I can't do much to help him. I'm not really sure how you could stop them bullying you on the bus, but I think it is a good idea for you to take the other one. Yeah, we could say 'just ignore them', but why would you when there's a bus you can take full of nice people?

Whoa :( somehow I'm glad we don't have school buses where I live. I mean, some elementary schools have it, and some pre-schools too... But bus school service does not exist in junior and senior high school. About the age when kids turn mean?

I've never been on a school bus, so I wouldn't really know about the problems anyone has on them... :)

I feel a little stupid quoting this 12/13 days after the original post but... thanks for practically confirming this for me :D I've felt this too much recently and trying to figure out why, and it's been bugging me for at least the past 2 weeks I've been trying to find out more information. I might need to explain this to the woman I and my parents have been speaking to again recently, as by telling her is the only way I'll get my parents or anyone else around me to understand what's caused a lot of my anger issues recently. I was coming close to asking what causes them, but now I know a little more of what I actually needed :)

Don't take that shit; tell someone. I know that's easy to say in my position, but if I had redo my school years I wouldn't have put up with it. Either tell someone (isn't always going to work, so I wouldn't rely on it but it's a place to start) or get assertive. People pick on the "weakling" just because they see him as that, because they won't fight back. Ignoring is as much of a response as anything; I never got anywhere ignoring people. When some people stopped harrassing me, it was after I decided to make clever comeback remarks that left them without words.
Yeah, we only carpooled but that was with friends. I'd imagine that would be stressful though; I hate public transportation as it is.
