I'm actually kind of a shy and quiet boy unless you get to know me, so I don't have a lot of friends. I can't properly chat with people irl because of shaking and stuff (I guess it's social anxiety) so I do it online. So I was wondering what you guys prefer, chat on the internet or in real life? And why?

Chatting online is easier in my opinion because of the anonymity. I also think it's easier to type out your thoughts than to say them and I have time to think about my answer whereas IRL you have like 3 seconds.

definitely face to face with a real person. People can be fake or just say whatever they think you want to hear from behind a computer screen.

Social contact person to person is
always better but if u have social
anxiety sometimes getting used to
chatting can help in overcoming it.
Its far better to c expressions on
who ur communicating with.

I prefer face to face chatting. But online chatting gives me the opportunity to talk with people with similar hobbies or likes that live no where near me.

I'm pretty much the same. Online I unleash, whereas irl i'm rather shy
It's easier to find the appropriate words when you're writing on a keyboard than when you talk in real

If its someone i know in real life i like talking face to face.

But chatting with someone you don't know and never will know can be fun if you don't give out personal info.

I like both. Online it's sometimes easy to be more free with what you're saying because it's kind of anonymous and even if you say something embarrassing about yourself or whatever, it's not like you have to face the person(s) afterwards. But it's also good to chat with people in real life and I think if you only chat online you'd never overcome your shyness or learn how to communicate in person. I like chatting with my friends and doing things in real life. Have you ever thought about talking to a therapist or even just your doctor about your anxiety? I think there's things they can do to help you. Don't miss out on 'real life'. Having said that, if you ever want to chat online I'm happy to do that :)

I like chatting in real life better, just because I read people through their facial expressions and body language, so it's just more comfortable for me.

I mean I’m a very social dude irl, so I really like talking to people and friends irl. But I’ll like talking to people on the internet if it’s with a cool dude

It depends for me.. If I dont know the person that well, I'd rather chat online or text but if I know them well then definitely in person!
