I don't know anyone that's been circumcized when they were older except one friend of mine, but he was 12 and didn't have any pubes yet. I guess they might just to make sure that whole area is cleaned?

They only really shave if the hair is likely to interfere in the procedure so unless your pubes are mega long, they aren't likely to be removed in a circumcision since they're very much out of the way of the site of the surgery.

I would agree with ShineintheDark here on this one.

I have read about a few guys who were circumsized as teens, they had to get shaved. But dont worry it grows back lol

If you have really long pubes then probably, if not then you should be fine :)

I have also read that they usually shave your pubes (if you have them) when you get circumcised? They do it for sanitary reasons.

I suppose they might shave so that the area can be sterilized before circumcision.

I didn’t have pubes when I was circumcised, but they said they would if I had them to prevent any diseases or just to stay out of the way.

Same here. And i've been waiting them for long, so i wouldn't want to have them be taken off

I have always shaved mine so when I was circumcised, the doctor or nurse didn't have to.

They have to shave you for hygiene reasons

Circumcision is usually inflicted on infants, if you were getting it as a teen (why?!?!) they might as nearby hairs and wounds don’t mix
It’s an abuse to the body and shouldn’t be done to kids without an informed choice

In the USA, I understand that nobody gets shaved for any surgery anymore. Shaving I guess creates more of a chance for an infection, But hair gets trimmed.
But for a circumcision, unless you have hair on your foreskin (NOT!) I would think in the USA you might get trimmed a little, but probably not even that.

ITs just quick and easy to buzz hair away with clippers than shave, less cut risk
