First Year In The Locker Room

In my school you don't have to change for PE, until 7th grade. So this is the first year of my class changing. We started the 2018/9 season on August 20th. We fortunately have only had to change starting last week. I go to a smaller school in a smaller town. So most of us boys all know each other well and are comfortable with each other, but we have never seen each other completely naked. I am not comfortable with other people seeing me mostly naked. But some people are, and walk around the locker room and right up to me and its really awkward. Is this how locker rooms are? As i said this is my first year, so please bare with me.. Also, does anyone have any tips for the Locker Room? My main question is it weird for me to wonder what the other boys look like under their underwear? I consider myself straight but when i'm around normally teenage boys i always wonder what they look like, too. Is it strange for me to wonder? :groupwave:

No it is not strange or weird to have the
feelings u have. At one time or another
we have all been in that situation. Since
the guys u will b changing with all know
one another I think it would b of a lesser
stress on all of u. If someone comes up
to u act like nothing out of the ordinary
is happening. After awhile things will get
more comfortable and those feelings u
mentioned above will mean nothing. U
will forget all bout them. If u don't know
how to act or what to do in the lockers
then just follow what the other guys r
doing. Its really not that big of a thing
once u get used to it.

As a 7th grader, the very best thing you can do, and I am being totally honest, is to suck it up and start to get comfortable with other guys seeing you naked, and seeing other guys naked, too. This is NOT a sexual thing, even if you are curious what other boys look like inside their pants. The more time you spend naked around others the more comfortable you'll get with it.
I am 16 now, and for all of us it's now no big deal at all stripping down and showering together. But I know I was just as embarrassed as you are now, when I was in also in 7th grade. It's totally normal.

Yeah what you posted is typical of any locker room. Just don't worry about being naked and go with the flow.

Yeah that is normal in locker rooms. It's a bunch of naked boys walking to and from the showers. You just have to get used to it.

It is normal to wonder what others look like. It is just being human to compare yourself to others. Just don't let it freak you out. You may be smaller or you may be bigger.
I remember a couple times when I was young, changing clothes in a locker room with other guys. The first time that i had to do that with like 40 other guys was freshman year of high school. I just kinda did what I needed to do and moved on. Others were more comfortable right off and carried on conversations while changing. Eventually you get used to it.
Relax. Do not put any extra pressure on yourself over this.

It is normal to be curious about other guys dicks, even if you're straight. Once you get used to being nude in the locker room with other guys, there will be nothing to worry about. Just go with the flow and you will be fine

I bet they were no more comfortable with it than you were. I bet they were just as embarrassed. They just did a nice job of not showing it.

If your feeling nervous go to the local pool and use the locker rooms there a few times, it’ll definitely help you get used to the feeling of being naked around others and it made me a little more comfortable being naked.
And no, it really isn’t weird for you to wonder, it’s just part of you growing up, it doesn’t make you weird or anything :)

I know exactly how you feel. When I had to start taking showers with other boys, I was nervous about it too. But it doesn't take long to be perfectly comfortable being naked and walking around naked in the locker room. Everyone is in the same position. Like others have said, just start doing it and in no time you won't care.

What helped me was when we had to shower after 6th grade basketball practice none of us were well equipped. Later that year when the whole class had to shower, we noticed a couple of guys with pubes, and a few guys tried hiding in the shower

That’s sounds like grade school/high school shower experience. Honestly, all you really have to do is just strip naked and go with the flow. I had a very similar experience, that I was uncomfortable being naked around kids my age. I always tried to hide my penis, but it just became too much work. So one day, I just got completely naked at my locker after pe, left my towel back, walked to the showers, and started talking to people. I walked back to my locker(all the way in the back so I was walking in front of everyone) with a friend, we got changed, and from there I was a little more comfortable.

I think it's pretty normal to be curious what other boys look like, especially during puberty when you're growing and things are changing so you wonder if others are changing in the same way. And yeah, if you're not used to being naked or getting changed around other guys then at first it's probably going to seem awkward but people get used to it. Nothing at all to worry about.

I started to have the option so shower after PE in 5th grade and when we started swimming it was more or less required. I wasn't used to it but I was used to being naked and showering with others so I could adjust fairly quickly. By now I'm also comfortable with walking around the locker room and showers naked but it wasn't always that way. You'll grow used to it too!

We have to change everything (underwear included) because they require us to wear jocks. They don't require showers, but most people do cause you're already getting naked anyway. So you kinda get used to seeing other guys in nothing, or next to nothing.

That seems kinda pointless, and uncomfortable. If you gotta get naked to shower at the end of class, why would it be any worse to take your underwear off to put your jockstrap on? Plus I don't know how you'd even fit underwear under a jock...that's gotta rub and bunch up and stuff.

It does look uncomfortable. The boys that do it wear briefs so maybe it isn't too bad

Pretty much the same EXACT situation as me. We are in there with 7th and 8th graders so it can be a little initimidating. I really like to look to so i figure if you wanna check out other guys you gotta be willing to let them check you out too.

I'm definitely not big but just in the couple weeks I've been doing it I've tried to act confident I don't stand around naked much just to and from the shower.

I got long legs, so for me, the compression shorts get kinda bunched up on my legs. So I'm not a fan really.

My legs are sort of long too but dad says my torso will catch up. I think I look silly in a jock

I have never seen a guy wearing a jock at my school, and I'm going from guys 3 years older than me when I was a freshman to 2 years younger than me now. In the locker room, everyone wears regular briefs or boxer briefs or sport compression briefs. They all keep the balls from bouncing around just fine.

of course it's not weird to be curious! but no that sounds just like my locker room. If you don't wanna get totally naked then just wear a towel or something, no one will judge you.
