ok, so i have this problem... whenever i talk to anyone, and i mean everyone friends and all, i really can't think of anything to say. Im not really a boring person, but i have absolutely nothing to say, it really annoys me.

I'm exactly the same usually. I'm not sure if there's much you can do really. You'll just have to try your best to be a part of a conversation, but I know it's not easy.

It's hard, I'm kinda like that, sometimes I just can't engage in a convosation and just look blank, the best way to stop this is practice talking with someone, be it your family or a close friend, then you can build up this skill, because if your gonna be in a office/public sector job (which is almost every job) you need excellent communication skills.

I get like that sometimes. I've found that its usualy due to lack of confidence, or I am thinking about what to say so much that i cant think of anything. (I doubt that makes any sense, but i know what i mean ;) )

lol that makes complete sense to me, thats my other problem...

Self-confidence is probably your problem, maybe just practice it by talking to people on msn/any im (or even the flash chat or shout box on vt!) for ages, then you will pick up conversation skills, then you can talk to people more confidently :)

Try asking a question and let the other person start the conversation, usually you will get in the drift of the conversation and it will get flowing

Good luck :D

Oh yeah just totally ask a girl about herself! Trust me she'll love to talk about... HER! :D

Just listen to what she has to say sincerely and offer your opinion from time to time and she WON'T think that you're a boring person with nothing to say. She'll just think that you choose your words carefully and you're a really good listener! :D

its not specifically about a girl though... sure there IS a girl, but thats not where i was going with my question. She doesn't like me the way i like her, we're friends. My question was about people in general.

Yer i agree with everyone else. Just ask a question and it should open up the conversation. Just ask what people have been up to or about something you watched on TV the night before. Just be like "Did you watch........ last night. Trust me its a great way to get people talking.

Start with the basics, like how are you? or have you seen that movie? or if you have same interests say someting that you have seen and you liked it so you can share it with your friends then the conversation will go on =)

damn, im finding so many threads here that relate to me :D (ive never been in this section of vt so)

I definitely understand. Try to ask stuff like, 'so how was your weekend?', for me at my school, i can sometimes get away with saying 'pretty nice weather were haven isnt it' lol, very cliche but it gets conversation going. usually if i ask how theyre weekend was, the other person talks a lot about it. talk about the latest movies or tv shows. everyone loves to talk about themselves, thats actually human nature, they loved to be asked questions about themselves, and people love to be complimented. another thing that people LOVE, is to be called by there names. so instead of saying 'hey wait up' say, 'hey (insert name) wait up'. it makes them feel better, its actually apart of human psychology (i read that somewhere cause i was looking up how to be social or whatever lol)
