I'm currently debating getting a mystery snail for my 20g tall. I have two female betta, soon getting a third (don't worry, they pretty much ignore each other), and two male African dwarf frogs. I have a heater and a filter, will be getting a hood/lid very soon. I want a mystery snail to put in the tank. The problem is, some say they escape very easily, and others say they don't go above water. The lid I'm considering is a glass top that can be cut to fit accessories like the filter and heater. Would a snail be able to get through a small gap, or would I have to cover it completely? I've done all other research, but still not sure about the lid.
