I want to ask my crush to prom/senior ball, but I don’t know how to dance?

I’ve been talking to my crush for a while now. We’ve gone to multiple movies together, hung out on a few occasions with other friends, and it’s all been really nice. We’re both in the same high school grade, and this year is the year I get to attend senior ball (which is essentially just another prom). Obviously, I want to ask my crush to it when the time comes. I’m fairly certain she’d say yes (though there is definitely the possibility she’d say no), but the big problem here is if I did ask, I don’t know how to dance. How big of an issue is this? Is dancing really that necessary for these kinds of things? Am I supposed to dance with her if I ask her to go? How do I dance with her? How do I ask her to dance? I have a ton of questions, and I’m just overall very confused about it all. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

Lmao not a huge issue at all. I used to hate dancing because I didn’t know how, but there’s really isn’t much to it. You can look up anywhere on google or YouTube about how to two or four step, or how to waltz to slow music. Since you’re the guy, you would typically lead, but if your crush knows how to dance better, no shame in her leading Lol.

As for if you’re supposed to... well... you don’t HAVE to do anything you’re not comfortable with, but you usually dance at balls or prom. My friend invited me to his prom and we ended up dancing as a group with a bunch of his friends. We never slow danced. And you can just ask her things to build up and to know. “Do you like dancing? Do you know how to dance?”, and when you’re at prom, you can ask her to dance with you. No biggie, no need to overthink it

There are simple, probably inexpensive classes you can take to learn any kind of dance.

I would just tell her that you don't know how to dance. She may not either. You will still have a great time I am sure. Just do it.
