Maybe I can help answer that. I think it's a combination of a couple things. First, anal is pretty mainstream now. That doesn't mean everyone does it or wants to do it. It just means it's not a forbidden topic or mysterious act anymore. Second, it's an attractive alternative for some couples who perhaps don't have access to bc (in the moment or otherwise). For a girl, this can take a lot of pressure off the decision to have intimacy. Some even choose to have anal first. As others have said, the initial experience can be uncomfortable or even shocking, but it can quickly become very pleasurable. I just think more people are giving it a chance early on.
