This isn't meant to be weird or anything. Our generation has the web, text messaging, social networking and forums like this. When our parents (my parents were born in 1974 and 1975) they didn't have anything like this except BBS's. What did our parents do when it came to questions and discussions like what this board has to offer? I would ask them, but both of my biological parents have passed away and my mom (step mom) gets really uncomfortable with questions like that.

Thoughts, ideas?

Well I'd imagine nothing close to this

I honestly think people just had to figure things out for themselves. They were probably told the basics from their parents and ran with that

When I told my parents we discussed puberty in school, they said they never did that. They got some info from their parents (not much) and found books in the library.

I bet they got info from friends and family. Beyond that, probably books?

They would have had to find alternate ways of finding out, whether it was asking teachers and professionals, asking parents or having more experienced friends/siblings who were open to advising them.

I think our parents talked about things in small groups. My parents have indicated that they did things like that.
