Hey guys. I am transgender female to male and I go shirtless a lot. I am very nearly flat and was wondering... do you think being shirtless in public is considered nudity even though I am very very nearly flat?

I think it very much depends on how well you pass for the desired gender, no matter how unfair and arbitrary of a way of measurement that may be for trans people. Trans males who naturally look more masculine and are flatter are less likely to be harassed for toplessness than trans boys who have larger breasts.

Ideally, no one would be harassed and considered naked for it but the world is the world.

Have you started puberty at all?

Do you go swimming identifying as a boy and wearing boy's swim trunks and, of course, no top? Just curious, do you pass pretty well as a boy that way? What do your friends think? And do you have a group of friend that all know you're biologically different from how you identify? Curious of those who know about you openly treat you and consider you like a male friend?

It wouldn't bother me at all, but I can understand that depending on where you are located, some people might find it inappropriate. Since some boys do have a slight amount of growth in that area, I would hope most people wouldn't see it as offensive if you are nearly flat chested as you stated.

I can see where some people who knew might be upset but it wouldn't bother me at all. We always tease my uncle that he should wear a bra because he has man boobs. I think it is more important that you be happy with who you see yourself as being. Your school might have rules but people at the beach probably wouldn't even know right?

Some crazy people might think so, but it defenitly shouldn't be considered nudity.

Yeah unfortunately it's gonna very strongly depend on where you live and the general zeitgeist relating to nudity in that respect. Like others have said, ideally it wouldn't matter how flat your chest was but the minds of the people seeing you topless would hypothetically decide that. I wouldn't go without a shirt in public, just because of the potential repercussions brought on by antiquated ideals and restrictions, but you'd do well to look up the relevant laws to your location.
