What’s the least awkward way to buy condoms? I was thinking of using a vending machine I’ve seen in a bathroom but wasn’t sure if they sell sketchy ones or if they’re good. I can’t imagine going up to a cashier with a box of them, that seems really embarrassing!

I used the self-checkout line in the store. Do you have any of those nearby?

What’s the point in a shop selling condoms if no one buys them? they are a necessity for safe sex. don’t be embarrassed.

My gut instinct tells me if you feel awkward or embarrassed about buying condoms then you may not be ready emotionally for sex

Walk into the pharmacy pick up the box, walk up t9 the cashier and place it on the counter. The cashier will ring it up and put it in a bag

If anything....if anyone really looks and thinks abou5 wha5 your buying....they’ll probably be thinking to themselves how mature you are being by buy8ng them and taking control and responsibility for your actions before there a misconception

Pun intended

Just buy them at a shop. No one will ask about it or look at you weird.

I used to feel the same about buying pads or tampons at the store but trust me, literally no one fucking cares. Like JT said, if you’re too embarrassed to be buying condoms, you might not be mature enough to have sex in the first place.

Thanks that’s a good idea I never thought of.
As for not being mature enough to go and face some judgy clerk at the checkout, idk maybe. It just seems like I’m young to be buying them and they may be judging me for it. I’m mostly just interested to try them out myself tbh. There is a possible chance I may need one before too long but it’s proably a ways off yet.

that's just a matter of practice. there are four stages of embarrassments:

Do it once -
Reaction: "Damn, everyone now knows I wanna having sex.
- u r very embarrassed

Do it twice -
Reaction: "That ol' woman ... stares such suspicioius at me."
- now u r just a bit embarassed

Do it three times -
Reaction: "Hey, Caroline (cashier), what are you doing after work tonight?
- the less to non embarassing level

Do it four times -
Reaction: "Nice to see ya Esthel (the once suspicious looking lady). How's David?"

- gratulation, you are now a regular at the store. no one cares anymore if you buy 2 or 6 maxi packs of condomes twice a month.

self checkout is one way to go about it, if its available in the shop you are going to. The other would be to just pick up what you need and take it to the pharmacy counter and pay for it and not worry about what anyone is thinking about what youre doing.

The shop do not care what you buy. As long as they get their wages they do not care.

You walk straight up to the pharmacy counter and ask the clerk to bring them to you. If you're mature enough to be having sex, you're mature enough to purchase contraception.

Two major points of wisdom that I learned the hard way are:

1: people don't care what you're doing nearly as much as you think, and

2: if you look like you know what you're doing, people will assume you do.

That said, there's no legal age to buy condoms, anyone can do it and it's better to see a youth practicing safe sex rather than the alternative, and buying 'em will go a lot smoother if you just pretend you've done it a thousand times before. Just pick up a box after doing some research, saunter up to the counter and pay, all while keeping your cool exterior. Eventually that cool exterior will become more real and less pretend as you see how easy actions you thought were difficult can become.

Vending machines are more expensive so if I were you I'd just either use self service or just do it calmly and it will be fine.

The only thing people should be thinking if they see you buying condoms is; ‘he’s a responsible guy.’

But I do agree with Just JT. If you’re embarrassed about buying them. You probably aren’t ready to be having sex.
