View Full Version : Girls, what do you do if you're picked up by a bird?

(I promise I'm going somewhere with this.)

Say it's a nice day and you're taking a nice walk somewhere, when out of nowhere, a giant bird swoops down on you from above, grabs you by the arms with its claws, and lifts you right off the ground.

How do you react? Are you scared? Excited? Angry? Happy? Do you try to wriggle free?

(I'm writing a story where this happens to a female character, and in writing this part, I'm curious how other girls here would react in that situation.)

I'd be scared because I don't like unprotected heights.

I falcon punch the goddamn thing and hope it drops me over water.

If it showed no sign of hostility, aka intent to eat me, I would just let it carry me. After all, how often does that happen to a person? I'd rather not spoil the moment if I don't have to.

I see! So how do you fight back if you're not flying over water?

Maybe if it seems safe, you enjoy the ride?

That's so difficult to know without having more details. If it felt threatening or harmful then you would have to act to save your life.

That's kinda why I'm interested in people's answers. What's your first reaction if this happened to you but with no context as to why? Does your mind immediately go to "oh no this is bad" or "hey this is cool"? I'm just curious.

Why is this happening? seems like the first, and obvious response.

Definitely a fair first response. Do you then try to wriggle free or just see where it takes you?

Once I feel safe, I'm open to a new experience and would love to know where it was taking me and what it was planning to do together.

I'd give the bird my address, and let him/her know my intended paying method in good time before we reach the destination.

Realistically, I'd be pretty scared and most likely need a change of pants.

(which really wouldn't matter if it dropped me from any great height)

lol nice. You would enjoy being picked up like that? What if he's not taking you home?

If it was flying closer to the ground, would you struggle to make it let you go?

Since this is about writing a story, it is better suited here.

I would be terrified and probably have a heartatack from the stress.
Now I will have nightmares tonight.

Yes I would. I don't want to be kidnapped by a bird

I would sit back, chill, and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime ride. Unless I was walking one of my dogs, then I'd want to escape so my dogs didn't get lost or hurt.

Just another question, out of curiosity. What would you say to the giant bird while it's flying away with you?

My guess is that I would probably get really stressed out (I really hate heights and unknown situations, and being grabbed I guess as well!!) and wriggle free before it had the opportunity to get very high.

Just another question, out of curiosity. What would you say to the giant bird while it's flying away with you?

“Let go of me!!” (I laugh about it now, but if I was in that situation I would probably be crying while shouting it )

I wouldn't say anything. I'd get out my phone and tweet.

Okay sorry, that was terrible  :D

Lately I have had succesful lucid dreaming (Thats basically when you know you are dreaming an just go with the flow and do what you like)

So if I was picked up by a huge bird,it would instantly be the time when I figure it out and say "Hey Im dreaming. Oh this is nice. I can see my grandparents house over there" At this point I will know how to steer our journey to where I want to go. So to answer the question: I would be happy

Nice! But what if the bird is holding you by your arms while he's carrying you?

Fascinating! So you wouldn't be too worried about your feet being off the ground and things like that, if this really happened.

It's so interesting to me how different these answers are! That's why I love this question.

In any case, what would you say to the bird while you're flying?

I'd throw salt in it's eyes and smack it with my cane. If we are too high up then I would just scream, I guess.
