Hello All!
So, about a year ago I started seriously getting into musicals and since I have seen a good handful. My absolute favorite musical as of now is The Greatest Showman. But, out of those I have seen, another one has really shined above the rest... "La La Land".
So, I was wondering if there were any La La Land fans in the forums and what your thoughts were. Personally, I loved it. It has a very similar message to The Greatest Showman about reaching for the stars, staying true to yourself, achieving your dreams, but we also get an incredible love story in La La Land. I thought the chemistry between Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling felt real and the love story was executed well from the very beginning, to that punch-in-the-gut of an ending.
Also, I've been told I praise this movie too highly. I think I give it more credit because I am a classically trained pianist and I tend to identify with Ryan Gosling's character a lot. I don't have the jazz background, but I know what it is to struggle for your art, passion, and also the emotional unbalance within a musician. It is a life of highs and lows, and I think it is shown well in the movie.
So, let's talk La La Land!
