Mr. President - A Political Poem

[Cygnus]

I'm just an average citizen with a single vote
And my hopes are that to your country you'll be devote
I've given it to you patiently waiting for the day to arrive
In which you will meet what you promised and so we will strive.

You'll be protected between lights and bikes by the police
And we are exposed to crime that never seems to cease
Make sure the corrupt pay with prison for all their bad deeds
And that will start healing this country that bleeds.

I know very well that it's not easy to govern an entire nation
But here we stand voting for you with much aspiration
I believe that with firmness and action the law will prevail
And thanks to that our way of being won't start to derail.

Don't use dishonorable methods like demagogy
Or you'll see we will end up falling in anarchy
Give the people of your country a lot of attention
Because you swore to us that you'd protect the entire nation.

Here you come to govern, take all the glory and enter history
Don't attempt to steal nor stay in power aimlessly
And now I hand the keys of the country to your judgement
Come here to govern, make choices for the best Mr. President.
