We all believe in God, we just have different ways of going about it.

All Christian religions use the same Bible and believe in the same things. The difference is in how they interpret the Bible, and in how they worship during their services, and in how they accept things like diversity, and in what rules they make for their members.
Some are opposed to homosexuality, others are very open about accepting everyone. Some religions oppose premarital sex, others don't.

Christianity began as a uniform faith in Judea (modern day Israel/Palestine) and majorly expanded when the Roman Empire converted to it under Emperor Constantine. Due to regional differences and traditions as well as the fall of the Roman Empire, the faith pretty much split between Eastern Christianity under the Byzantine Empire (which would become modern day Orthodox faiths) and Western Christianity (modern day Catholicism). Orhtodoxy has remained pretty much the same since then, dividing into different variations for different countries and regions (Greek orthodoxy, Russian Orthodoxy etc) whilst Catholicism split again around 1517 when Martin Luther chose to publicly 'protest' the degradation ad corruption he saw within the church and therefore founded the 'Protestant' branch. Any faith in the West that does not conform with Catholicism is therefore a 'Protestant' faith, whether it be Lutheranism, Anglicanism, Methodism, Mormons, Baptists etc, all who have their own twists and interpretations of the Bible and therefore their own slightly different belief sets. However, all descend from the original ministry of Christ so all believe in Christ as the Messiah and son of God who came to give humanity salvation from sin.

The main difference concerns the question of ecclesial authority and doctrinal interpretation. Catholics and Orthodox believe that the Church has the authority to settle doctrinal disputes definitively, Protestants do not.
Another major difference is imputed vs. infused righteousness. Protestants believe that salvation is simply a matter of God declaring, as a juridical fiction, that the saved are just. Catholics and Orthodox believe that God actually makes the saved just.
The main difference between Catholics and Orthodox is that Catholics accept the authority of the Pope, whereas Orthodox believe that all bishops are in principle equal.

Baptists are a type of Protestant. Some distinguishing features of Baptists include that they believe that it is impossible for a saved person to lose salvation, and they believe that all of the sacraments are merely symbolic. Catholics and some Protestants disagree with Baptists on these things.

I'm pretty sure they are all broadly Christian. That means they all believe basically the same thing, just they have different priorities and some things are interpreted differently.

Historical incorectness to everyone here... Christiany is a branch of a Judaism, therefore, Judaism was before Christianity. As for the difference - it's the same crap, just another wrapping...

Protestants think the Bible tells you how to behave and what to believe and Catholics say its the Pope and the church.
Baptists say you have to be a teenager or older to really become a member and you don't get christened or baptised as a baby. You get baptised like in a big bath thing when you are older.
See I did listen in my lessons sometimes

At least they don't blow each other up when they disagree with each other, that's a plus. :P
