So I have this girl on Snapchat who i have never really spoke to in person or online (I do know them they went to my school before i left to go to a different school),

I always had like a thing for them like a crush but never really associated with her or her friends. I want to be able to talk to her in a way where it isnt just all of a sudden, im not looking for a relationship straight away from this, hopefully in the longterm, but i just want to get speaking to them so it makes it easier for when i am ready to ask them if they want to be in a relationship.

Any ideas on how to contact them without it sounding all of a sudden?

Ps. it is highly unlikely i will see them in person as i dont live near them anymore.


Edit: so i just like snapchatted them and said "hey, i was scrolling through snapchat and noticed you, lets talk"

They have seen it but not responded what do i do other than loose confidence?

Just say hey or something, and then say that you were scrolling through Snap and you saw her and you were like, "Oh, I remember that girl!". When she replies, do some smalltalk or whatever and just see where it goes. I think the only way of approaching this situation is if it happens all of a sudden.

She doesn't know that you like her or anything, all she knows is that she used to go to the same school you do.

Speak from personal experience: people who use Snapchat believe it's way more of an efficient way to talk and also it would Be kinda creepy if it's the first thing that's said.

When I want to start a conversation with someone on Snapchat I usually start by commenting or tell a joke about their Story,
And then have a conversation afterwards. If she finds you funny she might want to start having a streak with you, this is where you will get to know her really well and become friends, and when you feel like it's time, ask her out.

Really appreciate the advice man but she seems to hardly ever upload stories to sc, last one i noticed was like weeks ago

Damn... Well I'm going to say that getting a streak with her is the best thing, start by saying hello or ask a really stupid question, it depends on her personality. Then try to have a conversation with her 3 days in a row (ask about clothes, hobbies and casual stuff).
