Parent’s reaction and embarrassment

How did your parents/family react to your changes that they hadn’t seen before and was it embarrassing? If so how do you deal with that?

For example my parents haven’t seen me shirtless since I got more armpit hair and more visible happy trail and slight chest hair. I’m going away soon and will probably be swimming so I’m kinda worried how they might react.

My mom noticed that I had grown some pit hair when we were on the beach and made a scene in front of relatives. It was really embarrassing. She at least apologized later.

My dad opened the door when I was in the bathroom a few weeks ago (i thought i was home alone) and saw me with a big boner, as i had been jackin, and pubes for the first time. His mouth opened wide and he said nothing. A few days after that he said how's my big guy doing. I'm not sure he was referring to that and i did not ask.

Same here! It was at a family barbeque for me and it was really hot. I wore a tank top that was not lose so when my arms were down my armpit hair wasn't showing. I had to raise my arms to pick up some grill and my mom who was beside me pretended to bend down to look at some food but was staring at my armpit. When I asked her why she just said my son is a man and all grown up now. He is no longer bald underneath there. Wasn't too loud but you could her shock or excitement. Embarrassing as heck.

It's always a bit embarrassing, but that's just how parents are. They're proud to see their kids grow up. My mom has commented several times on my changing voice and it's pretty embarrassing. lol

At least they've never commented on body odor. I pre-empted that by requesting that they buy deodorant for me before I ever really needed it. xD

It happens, they know their kid is growing up so I doubt any of these things have actually shocked them, they just didn't expect or prepare themselves to see these changes yet. Some other things they probably guessed but didn't know for definite.

My folks have never really said a whole lot. My mom gave me deodorant when I was 12 and told me I needed to start using it. She also gave me a razor and shave cream when I was 14 and told me I needed to start shaving too. But that's about it no real comments.

When I was about 15/16 my mom saw my dick when I was walking to fridge to get something to drink in the middle of the night. My dad and all of us boys go to the pool all the time at the club so he has seen all of us start to change some. My mom about a year ago caught me walking to the bathroom in just my briefs and sort of stopped, looked and of all things said seems like things are growing. My brothers and I are frequently nude around the the house, so my parents have seen us change gradually and have never had any strong or weird reaction to suddenly seeing a physical change in our bodies. My mom does overreact to other aspects of growing up. For example, I had my first real girlfriend this past year and my mom make a big deal when I went out on my first date. It was extremely embarrassing.

If any of my family see hair on me they usually burst out laughing and make puberty jokes which is very embarrassing. But once they started pointing out that I had spots on my face and joking about that but jokes on them because I got the chicken pox

I'm genuinely surprised by most of the reactions, I mean we all grow up someday, and our body will change with that. I actually voluntarily showed my one and only pube hair to my mother (yeah I know it sounds weird, but we had a really good relationship back then). I don't see the point to embarrass my child just because he/she is growing up...

I mean parents know what will happen to your body so it won't surprise them but they might be a bit surprised its growing/changing on you as it shows that you are growing up so yeh its happened to me and its embarrassing but doesn't usually last long at all.
