Is sex or porn a taboo subject with your family? Alot of families pretend it doesn't exist while others are very open. Which do you have and do you wish it were the opposite ?

My family is really open. My mom gets me magazines and stuff. She always talks about sex. So yeah we are pretty open about porn and sex. She thinks it’s great that I am letting off some steam with porn.

My mom said that viewing porn was illegal (which it is not). But my mom told me what sex is, what a condom is, etc.

Does that mean talking bout the
circumstances of having sex or
just having sex? Im told all the
consequences and that I should
know as a young adult being
more liberal or conservative in
having sex. As to magazine porn
that is something of the past with
all on the net. I don't c where a
parent would tell u to indulge in
porn to let off steam. In many
families things r not discussed.

the only talk about porn was "not in my house, understand?" Sex, puberty, that we talk about. My parents don't want me or my brother to be embarrassed to ask questions or be ashamed about masturbating

my mom and I have a pretty open relationship and we discuss everything from porn to sex. I kind of like being able to talk to her about stuff because she gives me good advice when I am questioning something or whatever.

Wit my dad? No. With my mom? Yes.
(My parents are divorced, so I'm just about never with both of them at the same time anymore.)
My dad keeps bringing up embarrassing stuff when I'm with him, trying to make sure that I become a "responsible sex partner" when the time comes.

Well, i've never had "the talk", I learned about sex at school and internet did the rest so...
yeah, I wouldn't consider it taboo but there isn't a reason to talk about it

Very much the same Mason. My dad when he "caught" me playing with myself assured me it was normal and even got me lube so I didn't rub myself raw as he said. We are open and i have 2 brothers and a little sister and the topic if it happens to come up is talked about.

It is a don't ask, don't tell thing at my house. My mom has mentioned stains in underwear, and on sheets. Never came out and asked, pretty sure she saw a used condom in my bedrooms trash can

I am very open about it with my siblings, less so with my parents altho they know I have sex. My dad will occasionally make a stupid joke about it but other than that, we don't talk about sex too much with them.

We don't really talk about sex or porn. Like, I know that my parents probably know that I watch porn, but, besides the occasional joke from my dad, we don't really discuss it ever.

It is not taboo in my family but it's not something that we really talk about. I guess my little sister and I talk about it but it's mostly me helping her through puberty too.

Sex isn't a taboo in my family. Mom is way more open-minded than my dad. But there hasn't been much talk about sex though. But we can talk to them if we have any questions about sex.

between me my sister and my dad there is some funny sex banter and stuff, but my mum isn't a fan of talking about sex and stuff and says whatever happens in your bedroom stays there haha

I don't believe the word sex has ever been mentioned by me or parents. I learned about puberty online and was clueless when it started. Porn has never been discussed and thankfully i have never been caught jacking although my father did walk in on my when i had a big boner in the shower and saw me with pubes for the first time. His mouth just opened wide and he left quickly and never said anything. He did say how's my big guy doing a few days after and i don't know if he was referring to that.

Pretty much never talked about. I've asked puberty questions and gotten honest answers, but there's no real openness about it (and I wouldn't want that, it would be awkward). My brother is the only person I've actually had more detailed talks about the subject with.

My parents are rather hands-off with that, they really don't interfere that much in that part of my life. They don't approve of porn but don't really seem to take measures to keep me from watching it, et cetera. Plus I'm a legal adult now, so it really is even less their business now. I do wish they could have been a little more accepting and guiding when I was younger though.

My father has come to call me "Jerky" - that will give you some idea, and if my mother knew ANYTHING, either that I masturbate or that I'm gay, it would be all over Facebook and the entire family would know. (WONDERFUL.)

I've never talked about it, but it definitely isn't taboo, just no reason for it.

Sex is not taboo in my family. It is not a topic often discussed, but it is definitely not taboo.
I don't think the subject of porn ever came up, so I don't know about that one.

well, mom and dad divorced and when i'm at my fathers it's out in the open and we can talk freely, his only rule is that they aren't suppose to catch us in the act(have 2 brothers). with my mothers side of the family it's basically taboo. any mention of it and well trouble follows.

Sex is not taboo in my family. In fact, my parents had sex with each other at least several times.
Now, we do have some sheep which we consider family, but we've been advised not to get comfort from them until we slaughter them and make a warm coat out of their hides.

It’s taboo in my family for me to have sex. I don’t know what about porn cause I think it’s well known that guys masturbate so I guess it’s not taboo though we haven’t discussed it

For me, my family has tried very hard to make sure that sex and porn aren't 'taboo' subjects. For us, we have kind of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy when it comes to this just so as to respect each other's privacy. But, it's not something that's really 'taboo' in any sense. My parents assume that I watch porn and will eventually have sex, and they're fine with it as long as I'm discrete.
