Okay, so here's the deal. I'm through my first year of college and I was fortunate enough to find a part-time job in the city I'm studying at, so I won't be going to any places. Trouble is, none of my high school friends live here nor do any of my (few) college friends (most of them are out of town for vacation or don't even live here in the first place).

Other than this girl I'm seeing occasionally, I basically have no one here to go out with or spend the day with. It's frustrating, it sucks. I don't want to spend my day at home on my computer playing videogames. The only things I did besides classes during the year were/are going to the gym and sometimes go to the cinema with a friend of mine (who's not in town).

Where do I find new friends and people? Is there any app for stranger meet-ups? Or an app for people who can't "find" friends that'll help them make connections? I'm bored out of my mind and I don't feel like going to the beach or doing anything all by myself, it's not fun that way.

I live in Lisbon, a huge city, yet I'm bored as hell. If you guys have any suggestions or could share some of your experiences on how to cope/overcome this, I'd appreciate it!

Maybe you could join a club and make some friends there.

Yes, I'm in an economics club, but the gatherings are just for dinner and talking, and they're only once or twice a month. I just want a crew to hang out with. I'll look into clubs who do weekly gatherings tho mate, thanks for the suggestion.

You could meet people playing sports and Lisbon might have a makerspace to meet likeminded people, yes google says it does, if you're into that.

At the college, where I attend some advanced courses, there is a large information board where students can pin all types of messages. The same can be found on the internal section of the website of this college.

Often, people are looking for joint ventures and leisure activities. Maybe there's something like that at your college too.

Of course you can find something outside the college as well. You just have to google it.

I agree with Liam in regards to posting something
on a bulletin board at school looking for someone to
spend time with either going out for lunch or to help
with studies during vacation. If there is a student base
union building where students hang around u could try
meeting with other students there.

I found friends at a student residence, it is hard not to make friends with someone at places like this
