Hi Guys,
I’m thinking about shaving my pubes for my holiday as I don’t want it getting all sweaty and clammy down there but I have heard from a friend that the salt water is a massive problem along with swimming trunks rubbing. I’m already slightly shaved down there and I go in just over 2 weeks should I keep on shaving or let it grow back
Thanks

I would say do what you want. Idk if heat or seawater should come into play at all. Different people will have different experiences and suggestions but YOU won't know until YOU have tried both ways. When I shaved smooth I was pretty excited cuz I'm always playing sports and noticed my pubes smelled sweaty unless I showered after sports. What I found though that you still sweat alot when smooth. Maybe even more!!! So I decided to grow my pubes back for that reason plus i looked weird smooth imo

I myself like the look of pubes and would not hsave or trim. It is a matter of personal preference. I don't see the heat relationship. It has been over 100 (105 heat index) here the last 4 days and my pubes or area has not been affected. I have also been in saly water and that area down there has not been impacted.

I do not think salt water will be a problem. I have no pubes yet and swim in salt water a lot to no effect.

Unless you have open cuts from shaving, swimming in seawater shouldn't be an issue. If you do have cuts, seawater is loaded with bacteria, and that could very well lead to an infection. Give the cuts time to heal and then try the water. Other than that, there should be no issue with that!

If you shave carefully and don't harm your skin, there should be no problem. I tend to shave them all because I like it tho, not for temperature or any other reason. Some people say if you have more hair you accumulate humidity down there.

yeah, as others have said, you'll be fine as long as you don't cut yourself shaving. just do what you want? maybe go unshaved and see how it is and then shave when you're there if you don't like it?

I'm shaved smooth and salt water has never irritated my smooth pubic area.

Personally, I don't think you need to shave them at all - I live in a pretty hot country and its fine all year round with me where I just trim.

I live in super hot country heat indexes reach 45-46 degrees C during the summer. Of all the things that could be considered hot pubes aren't even close to being the problem.

You have to do what you want to do and like. It's not a decision for us to make for you.

I shave 1 a week but during the week I put baby oil or moistureiser on. This could help if you are worried about irritation

Do what you think is best. The only problem saltwater may cause is if you cut yourself since it'll make your cuts sting but otherwise, human skin prevents seawater from damaging or harming the body.

Elsewhere, a higher salinity of seawater is considered a cure for certain skin diseases.
