Friend and I got into a debate. Do belly button smells differs during puberty?

I said no. I don’ think getting more active sebaceous glands affect the skin there. Its really more if you are an innie or an outie. My friend said it could possibly have an effect and might be hormones.

What do you guys think?

hopefully, this stupid topic isn’t dead on arrival.

Just bathe normally and wash out the belly button too :)

I've never noticed that, but I'd say no as long as you're washing yourself

Shower daily and special attention to the bellybutton should cure the smell.

When making out with other girls, I love to lick theirs. As long as they are freshly showered, no taste or smell to it. But someone that's gone most of the day, or more than a day without washing has a definite odor and taste.

Ok to clarify I’m not the one with the super funky belly button smell. I mean everyones smells somehow but just had a discussion with my friend about this and I’m putting it out there.

Your friend needs to wash their belly bottom better (with soap, water, and a washcloth).

I think if your belly button has a smell to it, then you arent cleaning it good enough and need to step up your game.

puberty is also hygiene realted.

Clean it.

How come you're always such a smelly young man
Don't wanna no jelly, don't never clean your belly
Well don't you know that other kids aren't smell in Japan
So clean it, just clean it

Don't want to argue, I don't want to debate
Don't want to hear about what kinds of semlls you hate
You won't get no chick 'till you clean off you're belly
So clean it

Don't you tell me you're smelly dude
Just clean it, clean it
Get yourself a soap and clean it
Have some more shower
Do yourself once more dry
It doesn't matter
If your are wet or dried

Just clean it, just clean it
Just clean it, just clean it, Woo!

Your hygiene manners are a crying shame
Your belly button smells rude, this ain't some kind of game
Now, if you smelling to death
You'll just have yourself to blame
So clean it. Just clean it.

You better…

I seriously doubt that puberty has anything to do with how your belly button smells. If you bath regularly then it shouldn't smell at all.

Jamie has it so right. If you bathe regularly it shouldn't smell. It's all in your hygiene.

Q-tips works well in this regard, but be warned not to trap soap residue in an innie as that can be irritating too.

70% alcohol dipped q-tip and some rubbing after and before a shower should help.
