they would put you under anesthesia, in other words unconscious. so you wouldnt feel any pain during it, but afterwards you would. once its healed you would still be uncomfortable because your glans wouldnt be used to the friction constantly, that could take months to go away. If you have no issues medically being uncut, then i cant see any reason to get cut. ask yourself, do you want less penis? theres no medical benefit so its completely cosmetic. if anyone is pressuring you to thats not ok, no one family, friends or gf/bf should ever try to force you into a cosmetic procedure. hope that helps, ask any questions you have.

They may use a local anesthesia or put you out. I don't know how the post operative pain would be. Why in the world would you want to get circumcised? That is the last thing I would ever do. I love my penis with it's foreskin.

I agree with Jamie. I am cut and like probably 99% of cut people had no choice in the matter. It was done after birth. Having seeing almost all cut people (I have seen only one uncut in person) I am use to it and find uncut dicks strange. There can always be complications from surgery and I had them when my leg was operated on. I would not do something that is unneccessary.

I agree with both Jamie and Matt. Surprisingly my
Dad has said in the past that getting cut at a later
age even for medical reasons can b post opert very
uncomfortable for a few weeks. B satisfied with what
u have and that its in working order.

The reason why most get it done at birth is due to the fact you won't remember or be effected by the pain as much. As an older teen it'll probably hurt a lot after so if you don't have a reason to I personally wouldn't do it

you dont remember it, but you are effected by the pain. ptsd and a lower pain threshold have been found by studies. theres no reason to cut an infant just like theres no reason to cut an adult. they do it to infants because infants cant fight back, try forcing a teen to be cut. it wont work.

I went through the procedure just over a year ago. I was put out and the pain was very minimal. Just follow instructions and you will be fine. I took less than half of the pain medication that I was prescribed. I couldn't masturbate for 16 days, but it was worth it. I wouldn't take my foreskin back for anything. Such a free feeling!

I did some online research on this, and I don't think this writer is very accurate.
---They would put you under anesthesia, in other words unconscious. No they wouldn't. They'd inject numbing drugs into the foreskin so you'd feel nothing except pulling and tugging. Probably they'd set you up so you could not see what they're doing.
---So you wouldn't feel any pain during it, Correct, because of the local anesthesia.
---But afterwards you would. I don't think you'd feel pain, but the stiches might feel uncomfortable.
---Once its healed you would still be uncomfortable because your glans wouldnt be used to the friction constantly. I agree
---That could take months to go away. I doubt it would take months. Maybe 2-3 weeks?

Was circumcised when I was 11. Of course you set an appointment first. When it's time, they put you in the room where the circumcision is to be done. They clean around the area first with your typical solutions. Then the doctor puts the area under anesthesia, I was never unconscious, and I never heard from my friends that they were unconscious during the operation.

I felt numb in that area the whole time it was happening, except few minutes before the operation ended (I guess it was the stitching, but I didn't know since I wasn't looking). The doctor then showed me my penis which is now circumcised and then proceeded to clean it again and wrap it some kind of gauze I think, which I also put in my penis every time after I clean it for weeks.

The first 2 weeks I was super sensitive if I wore shorts or pants, then was feeling much better during the third. When it was almost a month, the stitches fell (as far as I remember, because I didn't go back to the doctor to remove anything) and I was fully recovered 1 month after the operation.

Artful, I think you did an excellent job explaining the process and how you felt the whole time, for Francisco, who asked the question. So, from what you wrote, after it was done it was uncomfortable for a couple of weeks but not painful, am I correct?

Thanks man. It was kind of painful the first few days since you have to get to used to cleaning it yourself, it's bearable though don't worry. Then after you get used to cleaning it, it's just uncomfortable since it's very sensitive. I didn't wear underwear for like weeks if I remember.

I remember mine as it was done at 13. I had general anesthesia that is definitely the most convenient way, I think it is covered by the national insurance in Portugal (as there are some common rules on health security in the EU). Local would be also possible, only the injections hurt a little (probably like at the dentist). Healing is subject to your own body's "healing speed". There will be a swelling for a few days and it will feel uncomfortable for a few weeks. Moreover, the glans will be very sensitive. You can avoid it by wearing tight underwear (I didn't feel very uncomfortable thanks to this advice from my doctor).

Whether you should do it or not depends on your reasons. In most of the cases an alternative therapy is possible. However, it would be the easiest way if you have some medical problems. There are many pros and cons. The best person to get an opinion is to talk with a doctor (or even 2 if you want to get a second opinion).

No, don't get circumcised for looks. Unless you have a real medical emergency, avoid decreasing your penis mass.

mine was exatcly like this as well except i was done when i was 12. they used a ring with plastic screws around it to remove my skin.

the injections to make me numb were the worst part

Unless it is very necessary and at worst case scenario, I wouldn't recommend circumcision. And yes, I have read on the internet that it is very painful after surgery, especially during an erection.

some do local anesthesia, I should've put that in my post, my bad. If they did local anesthesia it would be injected into the base of the penis not the foreskin itself, like they do in infant circumcisions, that is if they even give them anesthetics. The constant friction feeling would go away once the glans has become callused, in other words has covered itself with dead skin to protect itself from the friction, one of the jobs that the foreskin is supposed to do. this callusing never stops once the glans is permanently exposed, the glans builds up more and more dead skin which reducing sensation over the years. which is why you might feel like you havent lost much pleasure after circumcision, but as you get older it will decrease as your glans becomes more callused. those of us cut as a baby have had years of callusing which might be why we're not be as happy being cut as recently cut guys are. some of us at least. the foreskin is apart of the penis, it serves several purposes and has many functions. we taught that its like a dlc to a game, but really its critical part of the game. its like playing games without color, sure you can still play, but you're missing something that makes the game fun and entertaining. why would you want to lose that? the grass isnt greener on the cut side, thats for sure.

It’s not that painful, I was with one of my friends when they had there’s done, and it was almost painless. He was a bit sore helping though. At the need of the day, it’s your choice to get snipped.

Read my post I was circumcised last year and I posted all about it... Only do it if you can't pull your foreskin back otherwise leave it alone :)

Mine was pretty much the same as yours, I was also 11. The surgery part is actually painless. They just inject the area with anaesthesia and that's it. The hard part is after the operation when the effects of anaesthesia fades.
