Girl I like

So there is a girl at church that I've liked for a verrrry long time. I think its something like 2 years now. The thing is I don't know how to take that relationship out.

Let's start from the beginning. I first met her when she was training to become an Altar server. She was in 4th grade at the time, whilst I was in 7th. Not really trying to do anything I just trained her like I was supposed to. I felt something but I thought it was just hormones.

Fast forward one year, she's training altar servers with me. This is when I started liking her. I had to remind myself of her age. This is only when things started going to me really liking her. The next year I served Christmas mass with her and hung out with her a lot.

Now, its like if shes at church her and I are always together. Wheither its Altar serving, serving at a dinner dance, or just sitting for coffee and doughnuts. People even call us a Dynamic Duo. Has she dropped hints of liking me? Yeah. I just dont wanna get in trouble. However, I have decided to start dropping hints but letting her do all the talking.

It’s hard to tell without seeing the body language of you two interacting and also the age gap in maturity could be problematic. You probably need to wait a while before assuming any mutual attraction in a romantic sense, it could be a really close friendship to the point where if there is affection it is brotherly-sisterly; rather than romantic.

More informative information would help; but my advice remains the same. Dropping hints is fine, but be very careful not to be to add pressure to the situation because that can be scary.

If she's 3 years younger based on the different grade levels you mentioned, I don't think she's too young for you to be friends with and go out on dates. But this is a situation where you have to be really careful depending upon how far any relationship goes because in some places sex between teens only a year or so apart is banned by law if the boy is older, and if her parents found out and reported you. You being 16 and her 13 seems to cross that line, but just being friends and dating is perfectly OK as long as you don't have sex.

You could be fine if you were say 15 but otherwise 16 and older all your really left with is a close friendship and that's as far as it goes.
