When i was dating my ex i told her she was beautiful every day. I made her poems a lot too. So, maybe i was too sweet? I dunno?

Yes you sure can overdo being complimentary. You can make them actually turned off by continuous lovey dovey compliments. So take it a bit easy in your next relationship.
