Hi there Nicholas. I am really really sorry to hear this news. I spoke with him not long ago in the private messages. He (even though I never really knew him) seemed like a really great guy. He did tell me that he was pleased that he had you for a new brother after your mum and his dad got married. That you were cool and had similar interests.

My thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time. He was very active on this forum ad he will be missed, but now he will be watching and reading all the posts from above. He is now the boss moderator of this site.

No we were in a place called Gatlinburg and we came home ,on the way Cory had a headache . We got home and he went to bed. About 2 hours mom went to check him. An ambulance took him to the hospital . He died the next day

As the others said man, just stay strong, you know he's got to be watching over you. I have a friend and he's actually on here too but one of his brothers died too and he stayed strong. But uh if you have to cry just do it, let it all out you know.

Tonight at the church there is going to be a celebration of life for Cor .
They took him after the hospital and we got to see him before he was buried. He was buried next to his granny .
Tonight I guess everyone gets to say goodbye.

I dont wanna sound like a horrible person but I don't buy this either. You say he supposedly died on the tuesday morning and the funeral was on the saturday, so thats basically only 3 full days to arrange the funeral. My cousin died suddenly last year and we couldnt even start to arrange the funeral until the post mortem was done and everything signed off on so it was nearly a week before we could even book anything or make arrangements which meant the funeral was really delayed.

Also if my sister was to die, I would no way think to find some random forum she was signed up to and start posting the same day she died....I'm gonna have much more on my mind!

I do know that it's not uncommon in the US to have a funeral within 3 days. I dont know about the UK.

I just want to say I don’t think anybody is evil for being skeptical of claims involving tragedy. This is a digital online medium of communication that by default requires trust in ways where real life communication has built-in verification that said events witnessed did occur.

We’ve all seen cases where people get catfished online.

However we cannot disprove such claims of tragedy aren’t true either.

So an ethical code I operate with, and I hope I can lead by example, is simply to acknowledge the claim with benefit of the doubt, even if skepticism is in the back of your mind.

Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve, unless you know the people who experienced tragedy in real life, because that opens you up to manipulation, but draw a line at being polite and kind, and move on with your life.


Because the thing is, even in the worst case scenario where the claim of tragedy is a lie, another tragedy is mentally occurring in the person who made up the lie for attention that should also stir up sympathy from the public as well why someone would feel the need to do that.


The main point about lies, is to not feel manipulated. So then use wisdom to counter such attempts at emotional manipulation.


Now I will say this, I didn’t know Cory very well, but I did see he was active on VT a lot and welcomed his presence. He will be missed.
