Has anyone on here seen Avatar:The Last Airbender? Probably one of my favourite shows of all time and if you haven't seen it, i 100% recommend.

I remember being shouted at for watching about 40 episodes in one day and staying up until 2am when I was 11 XD

I watched both series. Aang and Korra. And even the not so famous live action movie.

That film was a disgrace.

Is Korra any good? It doesn't have Aang in it so it sounds less interesting.

Korra was alright. Aang does make appearances theough flashbacks and spirit talks n shit, but I preferred ATLA to Korra just bc Korra felt kind of rushed imho? There was so much happening and it doesn’t focus on one enemy, but rather several during a season.

Yeah, ATLA is great. Focuses on one main enemy a season. I saw a bit of Korra just now and it looks to futuristic.

ATLA and Korra are very different shows in both tone and execution. Whilst Korra was a little rushed, yeah, it was also never meant to last 4 seasons. The animating crew were never told how long the show was supposed to run for so never created an overarching story, unlike ATLA where they knew they would be lasting 3 seasons so wrote 3 whole seasons. At the same time, that also works in the favour of both shows. Aang's whole mission was to defeat Ozai and every villain he fought along the way was just a minion of the Firelord. Korra lives in a time of peace: there is no evil dictator to defeat, only terrorists and extremist factions. Whilst ATTLA is ultimately a kid's show, Korra deals with much more adult themes and often the confrontations with her enemies leave lasting effects on their worlds. Every new season, you see a stark change to her world brought on by the last villain and conflict whereas every season of ATLA was pretty much the same with the same rough formula.
