Does anyone else have the habit of man spreading?
It's where you spread your legs while sitting down. I have a habit of doing it, but it's only because I have long legs and I feel comfortable when they're stretched out.
With me, I do it often, but I'm self-aware of someone trying to sit down on benches or stadium seats where it's close.
Does anyone consider it to be impolite?

I always do this... of course knowing that there is no person beside me or if the space we are sitting on is very big. Though when I'm inside the bus I have to fix myself up so that I won't feel discomfort if I close my legs and I don't invade the space of the person next to me.

I guess in certain situations it would
b impolite but if u r tall and have long
legs and u r uncomfortable then spread
them but if someone is sitting close to u
or crossing u then I wouldn't do it.

I never knew there was a name for that. I just sit however is comfortable. Sometimes that will be with legs more open than others. With reference to crowded places, of course I adapt to circumstances - I'd rather sit more compactly then press against someone in a way that would seem strange.

Interesting, have you ever accidentally bumped your knee into someone next to you?
It's happened to me before, and it really feels bad man.

Thanks.
I think this is true, I've met a lot of guys who spread even with someone there.
I kinda curl my knees inward when the other person takes space and it's so uncomfortable because you're tightening your junk.

Unfortunately.
Then you have to be self-conscious about a feminist calling you out on public transportation for spreading your legs.

I shall.
I agree. I think man spreading wouldn't be so consciously brought up if some people didn't have issues with it.
Don't get me wrong, you have to somewhat close your legs when you're sitting with others, but the fact that man spreading in general is given a lot of crap by feminists is kinda BS.

This is true.
Sitting compactly is strange. You end up having to be careful not to smash any goodies.

I think that "manspreading" is just a sub-conscious habit most men (including myself) have. The only circumstance it should matter in is when your unnecessarily taking up space.

I try to sit upright with good posture but sometimes it is easier to relax. I have short legs so if I do widen the distance between my legs it is never a problem.
