An orgasm is definitely the most intensely good feeling. As others have said they do vary, but the variation is between "very good" and "amazing" - there isn't such a thing a bad orgasm. Yes, there are other pleasurable things that go on for much longer, stroking before you cum is one example but also hobbies, friends etc. but nothing matches the intensity.

For me there are two reasons to masturbate. Firstly it is an instinctive reaction to being horny and relieves that horniness. That in turns puts me in a more relaxed mood. I am more chilled out but also better able to concentrate on other things. Secondly, there is the pleasure from doing it - the stroking feels good, the orgasm intensely good.

As for porn, I don't do that every time. I don't see anything wrong with watching porn but I think you should also be able to get off without it and should check out that ability regularly.
