In that case I usually wear boxers if I'm wearing jeans. If I'm wearing shorts I'll usually wear compression shorts.

Yeah I figured this is what he meant. To the OP, I usually wear boxer briefs/trunks or briefs. I like having more support which boxers do not give.

Compression shorts are usually more stretchy, and can either be bought to trap heat or let air out easier. It may help if you google a picture lol. Also, boxer briefs help me hide my boners better. With boxers it makes a very obvious outline in my pants.
