I've never had these before, but I'm definitely having them now. There's no comfortable position and everything I do hurts. I tried some sports cream and it provided some temporary relief, but the pain was still there. Anyone have any tips? I'd really rather avoid a doctor's office visit if I could help it.

Have you tried a hot bath? I know that helps with muscle problems but I'm not sure if it works with back spasms. Might be worth a try though. Back stuff can be serious though so if you can't find something that helps in a few days you probably should go to the doctor.

Yeah, I've been doing that and it definitely helps. Ibuprofen has been surprisingly effective as well. Anyways, thank you for the advice :)

Well, not that it would be tons of help to you at this point, but there's a few little things. A hot bath is effective, adding epson salts to the bath is much more helpful! Otherwise, ice is helpful, heat will provide immediate temporary relief, but ice will help for a longer period of time. Ibuprofen is also an excellent place to start with pain relief, but don't just do that, it's ineffective if used solo.

If you, or anybody else, ever have a question on that one let me know. Backs are something I know about, I've broke my back once, and my boyfriend broke his twice...in different places. Back pain is a common occurance in my life!
