Going to Gay Club Alone?

Hi, well recently I barely just turned 18 and I really wanna celebrate my birthday by going to a gay club. All my friends are not into the gay scene as im a closeted gay, & my gay friends arn't even legal yet.
Since im going alone, I'm just afraid of just looking desperate or like a lonely wallflower in the corner. . If you know what to do let me know.

Well you have to be 18 and above to be able to go in. But 21 to buy drinks there.

I'd go and talk with someone who could be new, be one a similar level.

start a blog or web site then talk to everybody asking about the lbgt clubs and bars etc.

Generally the club scene is a little bit older. There are 18 year olds but most seem to be in their 20s, some in their 30s. I'm not going to say that you shouldn't go sober (follow laws and such blah blah) or shouldn't go with someone. But being alone in the club is probably not something that I would do personally. Not that I don't like talking to strangers, but it can be awkward. It could also be unsafe if you meet up with someone and go home with them or something and you have no friends there to make sure you're ok. There is also the possibility of date rape drugs and stuff. If I don't plan on leaving with someone, I bring my friends and tell them to not let me leave without them.

If you have some accepting and open-minded straight friends, you should go with them! Straight girls can be good wing(wo)men and a lot of fun in a gay club! Y'all could have a little pregame and head over together. Just make sure you have a safe ride home.

I always go with friends and make sure that I have a safe, sober ride home if I know I'm going to be drinking/drugging. Also make sure to stay hydrated! It gets hot in clubs, especially if you're dancing. It's easy to get dehydrated.
